Suzdavis 0 Posted September 18, 2009 Daqui26 I just got back from Las Vegas. My surgeon told me to be real careful and not to eat on the plane or 1 hour after landing. I had no problems and would do it again tomorrow. Another word of advice, is if you go to any restaurant on the strip or downtown show your surgery card and receive the childs price. I asked like a dummy on the last day we were there at the Paris Buffet and they said if I had shown my card with ID I could have eaten at the childs price. The lady said it is common for most every restaurant to honor it.... We go several times a year and I was worried about spending so much for meals and not eating enough. Have Fun and win Lots...... tcbgirl 0 Posted September 23, 2009 Ok. I am flying to Thailand in a couple of months. The trip one way will take me about 24-27 hours to get there. The longest flight is around 14 hour straight. Someone told me not to eat anything while on the plane. Well, I don't know how is that going to happen. I will be hungry for sure and well, since they don't allow to take liquid on the plane and I don't think the airport sells low carb slim fast. In my case, what would you do? Thanks,
kiz 1 Posted September 23, 2009 tcb, first, check with your doctor to see if he says you shouldn't eat on the plane rather than going by what someone told you. He might have some tips on flight food for you too. I've personally had no problems with eating while flying, but if I were going to Thailand, I would be extra careful about what I eat just in case. You can by Water after you pass through security. Buy a bunch. I always buy a few bottles. Bring powdered Protein that mixes with water (I happened to catch a few minutes of Biggest Loser last night, and they were advertising a fruit flavored protein that mixes with water). Also, bring along some packets of Crystal Light or other sugar free drink mixes if you think you'll get tired of straight water.
luluwells 0 Posted September 23, 2009 I fly often and had never had any problems with my band. Bring your own snacks/food for the plane ride. My last trip I brought several Chike Protein bottles in my carry-on. They are sealed plastic bottles pre-filled with Protein Powder. You just add Water to the fill line and shake. I've done this before and had no issues, but this trip at the TSA security check they opened my bag and at first told me I was not allowed to bring them through security. I politely questioned "why not" since they have no liquid, only powder, in them. The agent took every bottle out and examined it and then swabbed my bag for explosives! They let me through with the protein powder bottles, but it made for quite an experience! LuLu
