Full Liquid Question

Do you think Campbells "Soup at Hand" are OK when on full liquids?

I have some in my pantry that are the chicken with mini-noodles and it's only 80 cals. I was just wondering. It does have some very small soft pieces. I also have the creamy Tomato and squash ones.

Only if you strain it. When you're on full liquids you don't want anything that isn't liquid. I was told it would have to go through a straw and I've had that Soup at hand; it would definitely clog a straw.

You can call and ask your surgeon to be sure but I'd say NO.

A soup I really enjoyed on full liquids was campbell's split pea with bacon. I ran it through my food processor with about 3/4 can of Water then heated. It was liquid, would go through a straw (I tested it) and delicious (unless you HATE peas!)

The noodles in chicken noodle, even soup and hand, don't really blend well.

If you strain or process other "cream of" Soups, like potato, I think they are ok.

I used to get Trader Joe's beef barley Soup, which comes in a carton. I warmed it with all the veggies and meat in it, then strained out the solids. Much tastier than plain broth. When I got to mushy stage, I pureed it.

As for the Soup at Hand, if it's the cream of Tomato, that should be fine. Just as long as there aren't any chunks in it. Squash should be OK, too. (Now I'm hungry for tomato soup!)

Thanks so much guys!!! I have like a mini food processor and a blender, was one better then the other? I'm still a newbie with my food processor so I'm not used to doing things like that in it.

Also, I do love peas Restless MOnkey, so I will have to try that one!!! Thanks!!

It's funny how you spend months reading and preparing for this surgery and now my surgery is here (Wednesday the 16th) and I feel clueless all of a sudden. Maybe it's just how my nerves are coming out. I'm getting it together though

I used the premixed shakes so I never even got my blender out. I used my little pink (so adorable LOL) mini food processor for everything during the full liquids phase and for a lot of stuff during the mushie phase!

My doctor allowed yogurt as long as there were no chunks on full liquids. I also had a lot of cream of broccoli that I pureed so there were no solids, and cream of potato. I would steam more broccoli and cauliflower and add a little milk/broth to the Soups and puree also sometimes... just thought it was more veggie nutrition.. it worked. Nothing ever came up for me.
