When you all hear yelling tonight---know it is Rick. He is gonna be mad when he comes home. I was given strict orders (he just shoulda known better!) to go up with my Dad and brother, let them help me load and he would unload when he got home and stack it.

We left at 6:30 just as planned, and as we were leaving town, the lightening in the distance made me wonder. Well the further we went and as we got into Colorado the skies were BLACK!!! There were clouds laying so low, you could have walked through them---would have thought about doing so if ANYONE was with me besides my Dad and brother who would have had me certified! Anyway---it began raining, and we drove through a section of hiway that had been hit HARD by hail---it was still deep on the road. When all of a sudden the noise was deafening, and visibility dropped to about 6 feet if that and hail was about marble sized......I managed to see a wide spot, which was a private road turn off, and pulled off, leaving room for my Dad who was behind me, and my brother who was behind him----Dad saw us, but brothers windshield wiper was trying to throw off, and he could see NOTHING! Finally when he passed he saw us, so he managed to get off the road too. When the hail finally passed --probably only 5-7 minutes, seemed like forever! He managed to reattach his wiper blade! But he slid coming off the road, and just up when we moved on, there was a truck on its side. We were driving through about 5-6 inches of hail on the road. I was in the lead, because my truck is biggest, and I have a deer guard on the front of the truck, and deer/elk are usually the biggest worry in the morning. My brother and I had cell phones, Mom had theirs so we put Dad in the middle so we could both watch him!!! It was slick as heck for a couple of miles! I thought about turning around, but we were 45 miles into the 60 mile trip, so thought we might as well go check out the wood available, rather than waste the fuel completely. The further we got the less wet it was, and when we got there, it was muddy, but the wood was not soaking wet or anything. So we loaded. There was a guy there with a truck that looked EXACTLY like mine!! Same year, model, color combo etc. He was loading his trailer, he jerked up so shocked to see his truck driving by we had to laugh!!! I had my truck about 3/4 loaded when my brother come to help, we finished, and on the drive home, we missed the storm again!! Roads were wet, but we stayed dry. So I come home......AND I UNLOADED!!! My husband is gonna be mad!!! I left him wood to split.....LOL I didn't want it raining and soaking the stuff in the truck!

Now, I am gonna go hit the shower so I can be out and dressed before Kinsey gets off the bus. Will be back in awhile.

First tho I wanted to say WELCOME Shar!!! This is an amazing group, I hope you come to enjoy your time here!!!

And Angela I can match you !!! any day of the week, it is just how we write, no one can see the raised eyebrows or laughter behind the words so !!! has to work!---See!!!

Kat, that is scary, especially after the 69 car pile-up in Arizona due to weather a few days ago. I know Rick will get mad but he will get over it. He might even be more scared seeing that you can do things without him. lol. Not like that is going to happen anytime soon. I'll give you a holler when we leave my brothers house so you will know when to expect us.

I hope that when it's time to go to bed tonight that I'm this tired. Right now I can hardly keep my eyes open. But I have to much work to get done. Hopefully I can be in bed by 9pm and fall asleep right away. My luck I'll get a second wind about 8:49pm. :cursing:

Ok, after a restless night I'm up and showered. I have a few things left to pack and then I will head to work. I get off work at 9am and will come home and pick hubby up. Then we are off.

Kat, I'll call you when we leave my brothers and then you can call Terri and let her know. When we get ready to leave your place I'll call Tracy to let her know if we are headed her way.

I'll try to check-in in the evenings. Just depends on how tired I am and if I can get on-line.

Everyone stay safe and have a great week. I'll post when I can.

I just checked with The Daily Plate and it says that a

Cherry Ice 6oz is 200 calories

Blue Raspberry 6oz is 80 calories

Original Cherry 6oz is 80 calories

Cocoa Cola 6oz is 260 calories This is for 32 oz. I got my numbers from the Icee website. Here is the website to all the flavors.

The ICEE Company

and then click on products.

People at daily plate put what THEY want and sometimes it is not the real deal...but Suzanne, you scared me enough to recheck. lol Good news is I am not hurting myself after all. :cursing:

Well, Rick was unhappy, but not terribly so, when he saw how much wood I got, and how much splitting he had to do. He did it, we might do another load for ourselves, and we are done. Then on to the inlaws. But I am not nearly as worried about telling the siblings they have to help as I used to be!!!

I went to the bedroom last night to watch Americas Got Talent, because Rick was watching Larry King (booooooring). I missed the show. I crashed shortly after 8. Rick said he come in, spoke to me, when I didn't answer he realized I was asleep. He worked the covers out from under me, and covered me up---I cannot for the life of me believe I slept through that! I am normally a pretty light sleeper! That is the last thing I remember until this morning I woke up at 5:43. I couldn't remember what day it was, why we weren't up....total confusion. I shook Rick and told him I thought he was late---he jumped up, threw his clothes on, and I got him some coffee to go with his meds, and he hauled butt out the door! Normally I turn on the alarm.....guess I didn't!

He is due at work at 6---said he clocked in at 6:03. Now he has a company truck, with a black box, so he wasn't going too fast.

I know you Texans don't want to hear this, but it is COLD here this morning! It was 51 when I took Kinsey to the bus---which is at the end of my driveway!! LOL Anyway, I know it will get much colder, but this is still August today! Even in my house it is only 72.

Suzie, I am excited!!!!! Have a safe, fun trip.

Shar, welcome!

Suzanne, have a great trip!

Kat, glad Rick wasn't too mad or too late this AM! You must have needed the sleep!

Hi Jenn! Best wishes on the FD thing!

Tracy, congrats and keep moving on!

Terri, always glad to see you check in. Congrats on your loss!

Cindy, the ticker can be VERY depressing. I need to change mine but don't want too, it needs to go UP!

Angela, I've gained too. NOT liking it!

This will be a busy week. Need to get ready to "camp" for the weekend. We still need to move the kennels and get them all situated too. Headed out Friday AM and coming home Monday. Got a friend staying here with the dogs.

Have a great day!

Hello from Guymon Oklahoma. We left at 9:30 this morning and made great progress. Can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would want to live in western Ks. Barren and Boring. But that part is behind us now. We thought about trying to make it to Dalhart Tx. but decided to hold up for the night. I was really getting tired of being in a car.

we found a quaint mexican restaurant and went there after we checked into Super 8.

So now it's time to take the shoes off and relax and watch America's got Talent and then fall to sleep.

Have a good one.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
