25 years ago, I would have went into a full blown panic if I felt like I do these last couple of days! It would have meant I was pregnant!!! LMAO! All I want to do is sleep. It was always my first sign....

Since that is an impossibility (in spite of being exposed!!!) guess I am just tired! LOL

Suzanne, your post made me more tired, I am slugging around, and you are home from work already! LOL, Jenn too....I am a slug.....DO NOT reach for the salt!

Rick wants me to reschedule his appt. anyway, he is wanting to do a couple of things in ABQ, so would prefer a day not mid week. Of course it is easy for him to say, I am on the phone with a VERY busy scheduler not him!!!

Kinsey was so funny, she got off the bus, and was telling Megan and I that they let her stay at school, and her teacher missed her, and she gets to keep going! When they called us to go get her she had a fever of 103. She thought that was IT. All this time prepping for school, and they were already sending her home, and she was never going to get to go again. We tried reassuring her, but it took the teacher to convince her!

Waiting to hear from Marie to see if we are going to resume our Taco Tuesday lunch today or not! It has been over 2 months! Her son is out of the hospital, has the cast off his wrist, and the pins out---he is in a brace. He has been released from speech therapy, continues his physical therapy 3 times a week---as much as he can, he is still in the halo, and the last scan was good, but it looks like it will be on for another month then they will scan again.

So as hard as it was she returned home now.....and will be going south to see him as much as they can.

It will be so good to catch up with her!

Well, I better get busy. I have a bunch of meatballs to make. Got the meat on a GREAT sale yesterday so making meatballs out of some of it to freeze. So much easier to have them ready to go!

If you text Jenn, tell her I am glad she likes her shirt, and she is very welcome.

Michelle....where you at? I miss you!

Well, we hit the jackpot at K-Mart. I love that store and would shop there more but they are in the next town over, about 10 miles. Hubby got 2 new pairs of shorts(on sale) and I found a Chiefs shirt to take to my brother.

We came home and got stuff off of the garage shelf to be put int the car to take out there with us. Hubby pulled the Harley out and let it run for awhile and cleaned it. I swept the garage while he did that. Now it is on to laundry. And yes Kat, I am dragging my ass to do this. Getting old is hell. But wanna get it done so I can veg later today.

I was going to make spaghetti for dinner but ready Kat's post I might make a few meatballs to go with it.

I found a big box of Mason jars so I listed them on Freecycle. Hope they pick them up soon.

Be back soon.

Woo-hoo Suzie! I can't wait to meet you in person!!

We reached 102 yesterday and guess what? Our freaking air conditioner is broke! When we came home yesterday it was making a humming noise but not running. I am praying Mike can get it fixed this afternoon. He thinks it is a $20.00 part. I sure hope he is right! Air conditioners are ridiculously expensive. We dug our little emergency (re: hurricane) window unit out of the shed and have it running for the cat and dog in the living room. Worst case, I guess we will all be sleeping in the living room tonight!!

I picked Zach up from football yesterday and had to go purchase some pedialite (sp) for him. He was sooo overheated. I love that he wants to play football but I hate that they practice in this heat. Those little guys were miserable out there!! I saw them have to refill their Water tanks (big trash can looking things that they set around the field) a couple of times in just the hour I was there.

Zach said a lot of the kids went inside to cool off (off and on) during practice but I guess he was trying to tough it out. I watched him put his head down between his knees several times and it was all I could do not to go and pull him off that field myself (over-protective...me? A little!). I know they have a "doc" there to watch after them but I was really getting concerned.

The weather guys are saying that this has been the hottest month in recorded history for Houston. We have not been below 95 in almost a month now. I am praying we get a decent winter...and that it starts cooling off soon. This weekend they are showing us at a high of 90. We'll take it!

I hope you are all having a good day!

Angela

Angela, I hear ya on the heat! We're hitting over 100 here in the mountains! This AM it went from 90 to 97 in less than 1/2 an hour!

We had to run some errands and I just could not put the pups out. That side of the house gets the sun first so even with the misters and fan on, it would have been too hot for them. I crated the pups in the bedroom with a fan blowing on high for them and left Dakota free run of the house. I also put the AC down to 78 for them. Poor babies!

I've been having problems w/my DSL box lately but usually if you turn it off, then turn it back on, it resets itself and works pretty good again for a time but it's been getting worse. I meant to take it to the provider yesterday to have it replaced but forgot to grab it before we left the house. So guess what happens? Yesterday afternoon, it goes out completely! I didn't notice it til just about 5. Figures!

Took it by today just before lunch and they gave me a new one. It's all hooked up (obviously, duh!) and working GREAT!!! I missed my internet!! LOL!

DH is still out on the fire. He was hoping they would release him today but I haven't heard from him so am assuming they are keeping them longer. I should hear from him tonight after they send them off for downtime.

Hi to everyone!!! That INCLUDES you, Plain! LOL!!

I dont see HOW men (and some women) work in this HELLA HEAT! Good GOD!

Took a small nap this afternoon. When the alarm went off I had been dreaming that I was dancing with/hugging my dad. I sure miss him. I wish I would not have had to wake up. It was so real. Maybe I can pick it up tonight...

Angela-fingers crossed that a/c is not too expensive to fix! How you liking these afternnon downpours? (i say as a lightning bolt scares the crapola outta me)

Kat-thank you so much for my shirt. LOVE IT! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Welcome back to the internet superhighway Michelle :)

Suzanne-i wish me and Angela could meet you in San Antonio! If we would have been planning better, we could have. Oh well....

I better get off here while the lightning is crackin'.

Have a parents meeting for Girl Scouts tonight. ttyl...

Tracy, we will be in Pasadena. But while we are in the area we might just go over to the Alamo.

So I'm on FB chatting with Bob. He proceeds to tell me that there is a fire real close to my brother's house. So I go to the TV station news and look it up. I told him I didn't know where this town was that they were talking about. I go to mapquest and pull it up. Good One Bob, that's about 50 miles north of my brothers. So I told him to hold on, I think I know someone that might be headed there. Sure enough I go over to check Michelle's site and she was just posting that Michael was on his way there.

Michelle, I'm keeping all of the fire fighters and helpers in my prayers. Good Luck to them and hope they get it out fast.

Angela, i am with you on worrying about those boys at practice. I understand that it is important, but really, hours in this heat is awful! We had a highschool over here that moved their practice from 5 to 3, so it could start right after school was out. Well, the first day they had to send EMS out there because of heat exhaustion. Oh, and I certainly hope your a/c gets fixed today.

Well, I had to turn a child in for suspected abuse on monday. The parent hit her with a belt and left numerous marks on her arm. Teachers are mandatory reporters and if we see marks, we have to report. I felt bad for my student, because she thought she had done something wrong. CPS came and took the report yesterday, but I have know idea what will come of it.

Uh, Oh, I need to go get dressed for work. Have a good day all!

The thought of a child being abused makes me so sad. How could someone he so mean to someone they love (or are supposed to love). I will never understand that or elderly abuse! The abusers have a special place in hell reserved.

Morning, I woke up to 54 degree weather. Fall is teasing us.

Angela, when my husband worked at the Auto Plant, they had no heating or AC. During the summer months it would get horribly hot in that building. One of the guys close to where my hubby work had a thermometer near his tool box and it would register up into the 120's. The compnay used to supply salt tablets but they changed that and would place barrells of Gatorade bottles around for the guys. They also handed out the bandanas that had the cooly stuff in it. You get them wet and then tie them around your neck to help cool your blood. Even with all they tried to do there was alway a call for the ambulance to come and get someone that was having a heat stroke. During those few months, hubby was not allowed to kiss me when he got home. He had to go take a shower first. He tasted of salty sweat. Alot of times he would stay outside till it was time to go to bed because the AC in the house would make him sick. So glad those days are over with. Good Luck with your son and keep him hydrated.

Cindy. I hate that you have been put in that position but it is kind of a blessing. At least someone will do something so that the child doesn't suffer anymore. But hopefully it is not a case of abuse that has gotten out of hand. Poor thing.

I was going to go with hubby to the gym this morning but didn't wake up till he was leaving. So after he gets home I will take off and go for a walk by myself.

Have a great day.

Funny embarrassing story. Yesterday I got a package in the mail. It was from Roaman's clothing. I finally gave up in trying to make it to the bra store so I order some out of the catalog. Now, I'm ashamed to admit but I have been wearing the same 2 bras for the last 2 years.:huh2: They no longer fit and you can tell it but I hate shopping for bra's. I mean hate doing it. So I open the package and went in and tried them on. I put the first one on and thought it felt great. Right size and comfortable. So I put a shirt on and the first thing I notice is that I have 2 HIGH bumps on my chest. Really HIGH. It cracked me up. :( These girls haven't been this high since 10th grade. I walk over to where hubby is at in the computer room. Holy smokes, you would have thought I had just stepped out of Playboy.:) :w00t: He cracked me up, he just couldn't get over the fact that they were alive again. :tongue2:. I kept waiting for my sister to say something, guess she just didn't care or paid attention. Today I am wearing the other bra. It's got them up but not as high and tight. More like a saturday afternoon bra. Just nice and comfy. If hubby acted that way over a bra transformation, how is he going to handle the breast lift when I get it???????:tt1:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
