Good Morning.

Tracy, I have tried those Cheerios. Yummy. Also the chocolate Chex. I eat them right out of the box. I haven't bought any but my sister has them at her place and grab some when I am over there. Enjoy your day.

Kat, Glad to hear about your Mom. I hope sure has a quick recovery. I've had a few problems with mine but that was years ago. Knock on wood it is still doing good. Not looking forward to having it removed.

Today is a I need to get these things done kind of day. Just a bunch of stuff that I have put off and now have to get around to getting them done.

Make it a good one.

Good morning!

Early for me! I stayed up when Rick left, going to try to slowly reset my sleep clock to his.

Thank you so much for all the prayers and good wishes in regards to his job. They helped! He is staying. Out of the departments 21 people, 5 are staying, and he is one of them. He was called in, as was everyone, and they all come out saying they had to transfer or be laid off, so when he got called in, he was expecting it to be the same. But they told him, he had an exemplory safety record, and wonderful recommendations, and with his seniority, and experience they would like him to stay on here and help keep this facility running at capacity during this slump. He was shocked he said. The people making these calls have never met any of them, they are going on interviews with others, with outside company men, and employment records.

He told them he would like to stay here, so for now it is. We so need the next 3 months to be non eventful.

Again thank you!!!

Long Hairstyle - Photo of long hair Style

This is the plan for my hair. Not the color of course!! But the sharp taper. It has been blunt cut for awhile now. I always want the layers, but if I want it straight like this I have to blow it dry---otherwise my curl works against me! But I can just let it air dry and be ok......anyway, this picture, it would remove probably 8-10 inches off the sides of my hair right now....it has grown long! And I have just ignored it! LOL

My cousin I ask for prayers for is still in the hospital, but is improving. They are working to try to stabalize his blood sugar. It is responding, but they give him a little container of apple juice---like a little pudding cup type of thing---so they could monitor how his body processed it, and it alone caused his blood sugar to jump over 350 points! He was over 1100 when he went into the hospital. He come down to just over 400 with monitoring, then they began trying to figure what settings he needed changed on his pump. They are unsure with the drastic jumps he makes what to do.....poor kid. He LOVES the attention the nurses give him tho!!!

Will let ya know if I cry when I pass a mirror later!!!

Kat, I love that haircut. I wish my hair was full and long like that. But I have to suffice with this thin flyaway mop.

Sorry I've been quiet for a couple days. I went and had lunch at the school yesterday. Of course, Gia asked me if she could come home then and not wait until the end of the day. Nope. You were out of school yesterday. After I picked her up in the afternoon, I was so sleepy and fell asleep for a two hour nap. She fell asleep before I did and napped for a while too.

Today that's all I have done is sleep. I think I must have gotten overwhelmed with all that is going on. I hope I can do this for the long haul. I am trying to tell myself that every step in the right direction is good and I cannot fix everything in one day.

Apparently, Gia was quite destructive at her house, but since she hasn't exhibited any of those behaviors here, I think it must have been the anger over being ignored and trying to get attention any way possible. DSS is finding her a therapist which I am very glad to hear!

I really appreciate all your support while I figure out how to be a mom with not much notice!! No, Tracy, I don't have any other kids unless cats count!!

Well Suzie, we went not so gradual a taper, it is still longer than I wanted. Lori is that way I may have her take more off still....but it is better that way to go in stages, it is much easier to take more off than too much be gone!!! It is blonde!!! Will add one to Facebook, but I cannot size pics for here, I am illiterate!!! If anyone wants to help, I might make a new avatar.

I am off to "babysit" Mom while my Dad goes to town. Sorry it irritates me, he would not let me drop the payment for him, and Mom was planning to mail it. So apparantly he just wants to get out. Fine, but I have things to do too. I love my Mom, went and checked on her this morning, and would have this afternoon too, but did not plan on spending 2 hours.

He would come see us, but he did not stay for hours when either Rick or I were recovering from surgery!

Sounds so petty, I know, but I had plans, and he hits me with this.

Anyway.......

Suzy, I think you being a newbie at this, and Gia being a newbie to the system, is pretty good together. Some of those kids who have been in several foster homes, and such, know how to work things!!! They have to in order to survive sometimes I know, but I think they would be more inclined to take advantage, and to push to see if you would make them leave too. Where with Gia, she has not been tossed a dozen different directions yet, so she is not as jaded. So glad she had someone to step in!

You two will hopefully find your pattern, and settle in. And the whole go home early thing with you....that is ALL kids!!

Off to Moms with me.....see ya later.

Hi Ladies!

Busy but taking a few minutes to check in.

Things are fine here. Reggie is learning the ropes. We didn't realize, tho, how bad Dakota had gotten. At 36 lbs she's easy to manage but boy, trying to take a walk with both of them today, and other than Reggie pulling, Dakota was a pain in the butt!

I did it tho! Teagan took the loop for Reggie's leash so she thought she was helping and they were on my left, stronger side, I had Dakota on my right.

Felt good to get out there and walk. It's a workout with Reg pulling so hard but it's b/c he just wants to GO and no one has told him "no, he has to wait and walk with us."

a VERY small part of me wishes I was a runner, he would be great to run with!!!

Dropped DD off at preschool this AM and had time to kill before my hair cut. Went over to a coffehouse that's newly owned. I love that place! It's one of those places that a gang of you can go in and hang out and have coffee/eat/whatever, or go by yourself and read, play on the internet, have coffee or eat or both, or meet friends there and play some board games or knit or whatever.

Anyway, hadn't been for Breakfast yet. Don't do a lot for breakfast usually. It was so good. And I did nothing. Just sat and enjoyed the peace! Then went and got my hair cut and Clay always does a head/temple massage w/the wash. Ahhhhh!

Then ran a couple of errands and went to wait for DD to be done as school! So nice!

~~~~~
Suzy, You are doing a great job with Gia. I think you two will be good for each other. It'd be nice if you could have her with you til she ages out of the system. In the meantime, start teaching her how to handle money and cook and pay bills, etc. These kids age out with NO help from the system and no training on how to live on their own. It's a tragedy. That would be a lasting gift you could give her. One that she'd have for the rest of her life.
Have her helping in the kitchen, helping with the shopping, picking a meal a week to cook, etc.
Have her watch while you pay bills. Show her your system. Budgeting, etc. Make sure she takes some classes in school. Etc.
Continued best wishes!
~~~~~

Kat, so glad Rick still has a job for now!

As far as sizing pics. It's easy. This is how I do it. I'm on a Mac and running Kodak so I don't know if it's different for you or your program.

In Kodak, I click on the pic that I want, then I right-click with the mouse. A drop down menu shows on the pic and you can "save as," I save it to the desktop and you can rename it if you want. It will ask you in the box if you want the pic original, I pick JPEG, then "best for e-mail" then save. It saves it to my desktop as a JPEG and is resized.

Then to add a pic, make a new post, in the area right at the top of your post box there is a little paperclip, click on that. It opens a new box and you can "choose file," then upload. Once it's done just click off the box. I always preview my post to make sure it's there b/c it's hard to tell with the little upload box.

Avatar would be the same except you're changing your profile. But it's the same process.

Good luck!

~~~~~
Tracy, glad you had a great weekend and you are "finding" yourself again! Hard to give something up that you like but know is not good for you!
~~~~~

Jenn, happy birthday! Tuesday was DH's b-day too!

~~~~~
Suzanne, I'm so glad things have freed up for you! I swear by Chia Seeds. Yes, the dumb little plant growing things you see on TV at Christmas and Easter. Comes in a tub. I add a scoop to my oatmeal, yogurt, whatever. Start gradually, you can have bad gas pains if you don't. I started with a tablespoon once a day til I got used to it, then kept adding until I got up to the scoop which is 3 tablespoons. It has kept me regular since I started it! Nothing else was working very well. Your local health food store should have it or be able to get it for you. Heck, it might be in the natural foods section at your grocery store too! Look for it. Has a lot of great things in it for you besides the needed Fiber.< /p>
~~~~~

Cindy, so frightening for you! I hope things are better or getting changed so it can be better. You having to medicate before school is not right! And it's not healthy for you! Take good care and keep us updated. I worry! Hugs!

~~~~~
Okay, gotta go. It's gotten quiet. Could mean they're all asleep or they're in to something they shouldn't be! Gotta check!
Lots of hugs and love to all of ya!!!
Ok, I'm up. Now I have to get my butt ready for the gym.
I had real active dreams last night Nothing scary. In fact they were kind of humourous. But very active, when they are like that then I wake up exhausted. My dreams wear me out.
I got a lot of sewing done yesterday. I have to turn my quilt tops in next weekend and I need to get them done. I have a real busy week ahead of me and may not have to much time to work on them. So hopefully I can finish them up by sunday.
Michelle, so glad you checked in.
Home from a mile on the treadmill and a mile on the bike. Went to hubby's eye appointment right nextdoor. Came home, showered, pedicure and now going to make some scrambled eggs.< /span>
Cold dreary day here so it looks like I should get a lot done on the quilt tops.
Kat, if you want you can send me your pics and I can downsize them. Just send them to my regular e-mail.
Make it a good one.
What a beautiful morning!
Rained all night, about and inch and a quarter, then woke up to SUN this AM! So pretty with everything wet and bright. Plan on getting out for another walk today.
Been doing it everyday. Reggie is getting better on the leash. Not too bad taking both dogs. DD needs some training tho! LOL!
She was a pain in the butt yesterday! Counteracting EVERYTHING I was trying to do with the new dog!!! Timeouts weren't working. Finally about 7 I threatened to put her to bed b/c I was SICK OF IT!!! I had a raging headache and honestly, it was due to her! I know, it sounds horrible and I hate that I'm even saying it, but darn it!, it's true!!! UGH!!!
Anyway, praying/hoping today is MUCH better!
Oh! A friend of mine has a yarn shop and she was mentioning in an e-mail that she might be looking for new help. I offered. Told her to be honest if she didn't think it would be a good idea b/c I know NOTHING about yarn! But if she was willing to teach me, I'd be willing to learn. I've been thinking about and sorta/kinda but not really looking for a part time job. This would be fun. Especially since I've gotten into crocheting. Could be bad too b/c I see yarn there all the time that I want but I don't have a project for it so I make myself pass it up til I can think of something to do with it! LOL!
Anyway, we'll see if something comes of it or not.
Gotta go!
Have a beautiful day!!!
We had a great day yesterday....even tho I was in a wierd mood all day. Not happy, not sad, not mad, I felt like I was stuck in neutral all day, just waiting to shift into gear.....very wierd!
We did some yard work, and we took a great motorcycle ride. Took Kinsey and Connor to breakfast, and spent time with them. Son is again looking to transferring to Shrevesport (I HATE that--truly pisses me off!) so since he is being an ass over it we took the kiddo and went to town!!! He and Kinsey have such fun together!
Was a good day.
Woke up this morning to 6 inches of snow, and it is snowing as I type!
At least the fertilizer we put on the lawn is getting soaked in well. When it soaks in and melts away, our lawn will be pretty!!!
All the weather reports said a wet storm was heading at us. So we decided to put the fertilizer on---we put on 50 pounds between the front and back. Then the weather looked great. When the kids left last night, son was laughing that we better get out the Water hoses, he could see stars there was not going to be any snow. He just felt it. He was making me mad! He wanted it dry because his work roads are so bad with the wet weather. But lo and behold, early morning brought it on with a vengeance! Made me smile anyway!!! The neighbor laughed at Rick when he said he was putting it on before the storm. He probably isn't laughing so much this morning either!!!
Our son has every right to live where he chooses. He did however have children, and when you do that, you then make choices with them in mind, not just yourself. My DIL is not a diligent Mom, she is a loving Mom, but not one to watch close enough, etc. Where they live now is on our property outside of town which is connected to the property my inlaws live on. Connor spends much more time at my inlaws than he does at home. He eats there, plays there, and is given tons of attention there. He has 13 acres of land, he rides his bike, and now his skateboard, and he runs and plays with no traffic, and he follows my FIL everywhere he goes. They are talking about an apartment, in a large complex---because a friend lives there. Connor had 5 grandmas at his party 2 weeks ago, when Garrick turns 1----he will have none. The job son is lookiing at is not paying any more, or does not have any more of a future than the one offered him here----but it doesn't matter he will do what he thinks he wants to and to hell with everything else!
I am scared for them, and it is much easier to be angry than it is scared.
I am doing nothing today. Making meatloaf for dinner, sitting around reading my book.
Sorry to come on and do nothing but complain. But everytime I think about this it makes me mad!!! LOL
I spend 2 weeks a year of vacation ferrying family around, and now I get to spend the other chasing them to see my grandkids. What would I do with a vacation just for the sake of vacation anyway?????
Kat, that's a lot of snow for a quick storm. Glad you got the fertilizer down.
I went to the Support Group meeting yesterday. It was a really good one. Came home and did some stuff here at the house and then went to church. Last night I went downstairs and watched "Bolt" with Sis and BIL. What a cute movie.
Today I have spent most of it working on the quilt tops. This design is more tedious then the last one. Lots of piceing together. I won't have them done by this weekend to turn in but that's ok because I have 5 others that I will be. We only need 4 total. So I'm good.
Getting ready to fix chicken tacos and beef tacos for dinner. Yummy.
      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?
        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
