A gastric band is one of the most dangerous and painful operations you can have.

pizza? wow I can eat the top of a pizza only but I too can

eat the rest but much less. Salmon and Spinach still can't do and they are so healthy  My band is a real snob...."she" loves really gourmet foods in little doses. I love my band and how it puts the cabash on power eating ...except for ice cream ...

Ahh the dastardly band! It surrounds the stomach with it's evil and insidious lair! Damn near squeezes the weight right off of those who dare!

It's amazing how ignorant people even get published. They'll make their buck anyway they can and they just assume that we haven't tried everything under the sun before reaching the decision to have it done. I'd love to tell her - lady, it's not what you see that causes the problem, it's what you don't see. If we were able to control our appetites, emotions, genetics and have great willpower, doesn't she think we would have done that a long time ago?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
