Concerns about Flu illness

Recommended Posts

Getting the flu or food poisioning was a pre surgery question of mine. My surgeon advised that should either happen I should make an immediate appointment to have a complete unfill.

Well I just better not get it cause that cost to much money, LOL.

Lucky for me I seldom get sick. But because I seldom get sick I never even thought about asking.

Thanks for your input.

Kathy

My dr has prescribed me a good supply of phenergren suppositories (for nausea). I have them on hand if I get sick to my stomach. Maybe your dr can prescribe them for you??

I just got to thinking about if I was to get the flu, will throwing up be more of a problem with my band?

Thanks in advance.

Kathy

My doctor said if I even think that I have been exposed to the flu or have it, to call him immediatly and he would prescribe an anti nausea medicine. He said vomiting would be really bad for the band and may cause a slippage.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
