Another newbie

:thumbup: I have just started looking into the lap band, and have my first appointment on Tuesday to get things started. I am 5'3 and weigh 248lbs my BMI is 44. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, low potassium, and a family history of heart disease. I have lost weight many times only to gain it all back plus some. I hope my insurance (BCBS PPO) approves my surgery. Any advice on what to expect in the next few weeks or months will be most appreciated.

Well you'll have a consult with your surgeon but before I had to attend a seminar. They give you a surgery date and that's what they send to your insurance. And wait and see. Bcbs ususly requires a psych eval. Good luck
