How Much Does This Suck?

Recommended Posts

I was flipping through the channels on TV tonight and found WWE wrestling. I weight more than most of these big guys and I can't tell you how much that sucks. I know I won't be this way for long but, it still wasn't the way I wanted to end my day.

Maybe I could beat one of them mup pre-surgery. Yeah, that would feel good! :)

Don't feel bad. When I went to my consultation a few weeks ago I found out I am more fat percentage-wise that the cheapest grade of gound beef. LOL!

spydr, I don't know too much about professional wrestling.... but, who in their right mind would want to walk out in front of an audience in those tight outfits, paint makeup, and weird personality? :)

On the other hand, it wouldn't hurt to let your alter ego "insert macho name here" come out and whip up on a few of those guys! Show 'em what's what.

Don't be too hard on yourself, turn it into inspiration. Make yourself a personal goal, when you achieve it - attend one of their shows/order pay per view and have yourself a good laugh.

All the best,

Don't feel too badly Spydr. Hubby and I used to be huge (no pun intended) fans of WWE and I would always feel horrible inside knowing that I (a woman) weighed more than most of those in shape wrestlers!!!

It was always hard to watch those beautiful divas come out, but especially hard when they would say nasty things about fat people.

I'm a huge baseball fan and they always show the players stats on the Jumbotron. I weigh more than all the ball players. For a while there I weighed the same as one guy who is 6'7" and they joke about how chubby he is (he weighs 275). I'm 5'7" and weighed what a "chubby" 6'7" man weighs. I know from depressed about this!!!

I'm hoping that by Spring Training I weigh less than at least SOME of the players!!!! But for the grace of god and my band..............

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
