isaviolinist 11 Posted September 4, 2009 OMG I am so jealous of you right now. I don't know the answer to your question, but I sure wish I had your problem! I am about 2.5 months post-op and I REALLY hope that at 11 months I'm in the same boat (looks like we have/had about the same amount to lose too). Congrats on all of your weight loss! comtemplating 0 Posted September 4, 2009 Well.....isn't going to come down to the basics? If you burn more than you eat then you are going to continue to lose weight. Band or no band isn't that how weightloss happens- or am I missing something. Is someone telling you that because now you are at goal that you have to get Fluid taken out? I was under the impression that we would just leave things alone once I hit goal and that I may even need further tweeking in the future even after goal. Man- I wish I had your problems :smile2:
ThinknHealthy 0 Posted September 4, 2009 Congratulations on reaching your goal weight. You are an inspiration to all of us who are still on this journey. I love that you exercise like crazy. That alone should keep you where you want to be. Continue to set some mini goals and adjust you band accordingly to meet them. The goals could even be to maintain your weight through the holidays. You might also try setting some fitness goals, like running a 5k or reaching a weight lifting target. Good luck and keep up the good work. I continue to be inspired by the success of the people on this board.
luluc 6 Posted September 4, 2009 can i maintain my weight without an unfill..... yes, but don't be afraid to get an unfill should a small hiccup occur. i had to get an unfill for 5wks, and because i exercise decently - even w/eating more - i lost. got to goal in 10months & have been maintaing over a yr. 2Flyguys 13 Posted September 4, 2009 what i'm hoping to hear from someone....lol...is that my body will get use to the exercise and i'll eventually hit a plateau and stop losing...and that i can still exercise as much as i want...really hoping...lol...waiting for that answer...lol....i love the restriction i have right now....but i know i'm not taking in nearly enuff as i'm burning off...which i'm pretty sure is going to continue making me lose...but again i hope to hear my body will get use to the exercise and once i'm healed from my tuck i will start weight training...which may cause the scale to go up bcuz muscle weights more then fat...my son was hugging me last night and he said mom please stop losing weight i can feel all the bones in ur back...thats been heavy on my mind this morning... luluc 6 Posted September 4, 2009 ...but again i hope to hear my body will get use to the exercise ... really no way of knowing that. i will say that even though i'm no longer in "weightloss" mode my body definition improves every day w/the weight training & cardio i do each wk. you might have to add more food to your mix - but if it's not broke, don't go trying to fix it. 2Flyguys 13 Posted September 4, 2009 i think u and i r on the same page when it comes to exercise...my body is like a machine now...i don't look at exercise as a chore...i feel like my body is thristy for exercise and it just goes and goes....lol...keep in my mind this coming from some1 who didnt lift a finger prior to surgery....lol
ParrotheadCathy 0 Posted September 4, 2009 2Fly, if you keep losing, you might consider simply adding a few calories in a snack. Something healthy like fresh fruit or an ounce of low fat cheese and few low fat crackers. Have you tried the new Special K crackers? I love them. 90 calories for 17 crackers, and whole grain .... so they would make a light, healthy snack with a little cheese. Good things for your body! I wish I was worried about losing too much. But it's too soon for that for me!

Jachut 487 Posted September 5, 2009 i think u and i r on the same page when it comes to exercise...my body is like a machine now...i don't look at exercise as a chore...i feel like my body is thristy for exercise and it just goes and goes....lol...keep in my mind this coming from some1 who didnt lift a finger prior to surgery....lol I feel exactly the same way and have maintained for almost 2 years without an unfill. I do eat more calories though - I now dont worry about enjoying a glass of wine, going out for dinner and i eat things like nuts, and yes, chocolate. Volume of food still small, most choices still healthy, but well rounded out by enjoyable, normal treats. I can eat REALLY badly for weeks on end though (tends to happen when I'm very busy) and coz of the running, I never ever gain, not even a pound or two. Dont be afraid of a small unfill if you need to though, you're not going to suddenly gain heaps of weight. Those who have discovered how to really exercise properly, it really is a ticket to easy weight control for life. I'd have to say over a long period of time, my fill has loosened off anyway so that I can eat more than I could when I was losing. Not a lot more, but obviously enough to keep me at 150lb. princesstracey 1 Posted July 28, 2010 I havent had a fill in 17 months. I have lost about 65 lbs since then, and keep loosing. I lost my first 120 in 14 months, then 65 in the past 17 months. I have only lost 3 1/2-4 lbs since Christmas. I dont know if you keep loosing. I have been told your body will naturally stop when its at your 'ideal' weight.
