Eating...

Recommended Posts

I'm really trying to get back on track but for some reason I can't eat enough. When I was losing steadily I was eating 5-6 times a day getting in like 1500-2000 calories a day.

I am struggling to get two meals in now... any ideas?

I need help ya'll! PLEASE!

:blushing:

I'm going through the same thing!

My weight loss has stalled a bit, and I think it's because I'm not eating enough. I'm trying to stick to 1200 calories a day, but I should be eating around 1,500 to 1,800 I think.

Maybe we can help each other with food ideas/moral support?!?!

I have to weigh** (no pun intended) in here for a minute... 1500-2000 calories a day is a lot- even for a male. Now everyone is different, but I think anyone will say that to loose weight consistantly- you would be anywhere between 800-1200 calories a day. Typically, I try to not consume more than 700 a day, but some will say that is too little. When it comes to maintaining, maybe that amount will work, but I just can't forsee taking in 2000 calories a day would put you loosing a steady 2lbs a week.

Try to consintrate on 70 grams of protien a day and you will probably be way too full to even think of wanting more.

megster- i agree that seems like a lot of calories. but you have to take the op's stat's into consideration. maybe she is at a weight that, while it seems high to you, its just right for her, ya know?

sweetz- have you recently got a fill? what changed for you that now you cant eat? are you now eating more Protein then before and just not hungry as often? have you tried changing up the foods you are eating? just a few things to think about. hope you find the help you need.

So its not that I can't eat... I'm just not hungry as often. When I do get hungry I'm STARVING and end up eating the wrong things.

And yes 1500 calories is a lot but that was a really good place for me. 2000 calories was on my bad days... but I was still losing consistently. Especially since my dietitian wants me getting 80g of Protein in a day!

Im getting in 3 meals now, I just need to learn to snack again. I wish I hadn't gotten so comfortable

I just started with the daily plate on livestrong.com and it tells me to eat over 2000 cal a day inorder to lose 2 pounds a week. this is based on my current weight of 219. I am eating less than that and my weight loss has stalled, so I'm wondering if I am not eating ENOUGH and that's what's caused the weight to plateau.

Lol... thats what i used too, I jus subtracted 500 cause I thought it was too much. But the calorie tracker is the best I've seen. They even have an iphone app.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
