I'll pop in from work.

Good morning, Violets..

I had a pretty good night's sleep, so am feeling almost back to normal after three days of sitting in a car.

Bob's restriction has left. He's able to get a handful of pills down at one shot. But then again he's at 7 cc in a 10 cc so he will certainly get another fill next month. I did very well with eating while I was gone. Kris is being so good and I'm proud of her. We counted points yesterday and for supper I split walleye with Bob and had a few bites of cottage cheese and 1 red potato wedge. ALL of it came up as I pb'd 3 times. Guess I wasn't supposed to eat dinner. But I didn't eat chips afterwards, PamELa!! I had my hot chocolate and Mirilax and called it a night. I will find out Saturday how this is working when we go to weigh in at WW.

Lord of the Dance was just awesome. How people can dance like that.. sooooooooo fast and so complicated.. is beyond me!! Kris saw the original production 11 years ago and said this was just the same, except for the dancers of course. I'm sure the ones from 11 years ago are pretty much worn out by now!

I ordered my Fit Flops for the trip and they are due to arrive tomorrow. I tried them on at the store and they are very comfortable. They just didn't have the style I wanted so I had to go online.

No Ethan today since Joe doesn't have any work. Bob and I plan to work in the backyard all day, but it's not looking too good weather wise right now. We'll have to see how it is after lunch.

Off to get some Breakfast and then get started on laundry.

Everyone have a great day!

Oh... I really enjoyed the book, Julia's Chocolates. It was kind of a Glass Castle/Violets book. I finished it yesterday and started on the next one which I am enjoying also.

Everyone have a great day. Be good to yourselves. One week from today is Texas time!!!!!!

Hey girls...

Wow, what a difference proper car brakes make! I don't have to start braking a block ahead of where I want to stop! :bored:

Just work & regular stuff going on here... at the usual full-speed-ahead pace.

Because our driveway is so long and our house is way back off the road, our mailbox is down on the corner by my neighbor's house... & he planted pretty flowers all around the base of it (his, too)! He's never done that before (11 years) and it's so delightful! I smile every time I pass by (which is a LOT w/all the driving I do). So I baked them a pan of from-scratch butterscotch brownies to say Thank You. The whole thing just made me feel all warm & neighborly.

Make it a great day, everyone!

The fact that you even KNOW how to bake butterscotch brownies FROM SCRATCH is impressive. I wouldn't have a clue! yummmmmm

Ummmm what do you have to scratch to make brownies???

I'm starting to get packed for next week. Just like a cruise, I'll pack, rethink, repack, unpack, pack, rethink, repack... a vicious cycle.

Why no thumb war?? We both have bum thumbs..should be an interesting match!

Trust me, you're better off not knowing! All that I am (and I mean alllllllllllllll of it), I owe to baking. Sometimes I wish I didn't know how!

Shhh Judy, that part's the "secret" ingredient! :bored:

oh yeah, there is that! Damn liquid calories.

I can't even claim that excuse. Just sitting on my ass and playing on the computer most of the day........ oh yeah, and eating.

However..... I've been good for almost a week now. (where have I heard that before?) But with the WW points I don't feel like I'm going to be deprived. 7 caramel rice cakes are only 1 point. wooo hoooo!!

I'm having tilapia and red cabbage for lunch. 4 points. Tonight is pizza night and it's my turn to choose. I'm picking the one with spinach and ricotta cheese. yums.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
