Well i have to say i am starting to get a bit nervous, but am finding some comfort on here reading alot of the post.

So are there any Oct surgerys out there? Would really like to start getting a good support team going as i work up to that day and beyond. On 17 sept i have to start 2 week liquid diet and am really going to try to start maybe having one meal a day with a shake, that way i dont go cold turkey and body is starting to get use to liquids.

Would like to chat with anyone who has just been through it or about too.

Good luck to all.

I know you must be excited about your surgery date. I was banded in July and have been very happy with the process. Hope you will be too. I will be happy to talk to you any time.

Hello. Congratulations, bet your getting as nervous/excited as I am. My surgery date is October 7th. I wish it was tomorrow. Can't wait to hear how everything goes with you and how your liquid diet goes. My Doctor told me that I don't have to go crazy with the liquid diet but maybe a shake for Breakfast and lunch then a resonable dinner with lean meats and veggies. Good luck to you! Ellen

My date is Oct 7th as well. I have the same pre-op diet of 3 Protein Shakes a day plus one meal of veggies and low fat meat, 1 dairy and 1 fruit. It will be interesting to see how much I lose on that. I'll be in Florida for one of the weeks swimming a lot so that will help! Good luck to you all!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
