Cosmetic Surgery

Recommended Posts

I know there are probably other posts about this topic but wanted to throw it out in the men's room. Has anyone had a Tummy Tuck or any other kind of PS after they have lost their weight. Just looking for some advice, cost estimates. I guess I did not think that I would have this much flab around my stomach, chest and under my arms. No matter what I do at the gym, it is not helping and am going to resort to PS in about 2 months. Thanks for any info.

I have a friend that is a nurse and she said that she knows a group of doctors that will do it for free and then donate your skin to burn victims. I didnt get anymore details than that because I am a ways off for getting it done. Anyways might be worth checking into.

If anyone else gets details about this, that'd be awesome. I too am a ways off but am very interested if that's available.

I am very worried about having loose skin after losing all this weight. I bought a compression garment to wear while I'm losing. Not sure what else I can do to help the skin shrink back. I'm fairly young, 33, and don't have much of a sag on my belly even though I am 300+lbs. I'm hoping it will just shrink back, but I guess we'll see. :wink2:

How's the compression shirt working for you? What brand are you using?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
