jacksdad 0 Posted August 31, 2009 Hi all, Had my first fill last week. I have a Realize band and he put 3 cc's in. My doc is pretty conservative and doesn't want to have to put cc's in only to take them out later. He even said, I may not feel a huge amount of restriction so i'll need to make sure to work had at eating right which I'm fine doing. I'm jsut curious as to have other people only had 3 cc's ont he first fill and how much more did their doctor add ont he second fill , whcih mine is anotehr 6 weeks away. Thanks
Mimilou2004 13 Posted August 31, 2009 I think we have the same doctor.....6 wks interval, 3cc first fill and next 2 visits 1 cc fill. I didn't get restriction til forever!!!! Best wishes, Mimi
jacksdad 0 Posted August 31, 2009 Thanks Mimi. Im hoping for a little more than 1 cc the next time but we will see. Certainly makes you use the band as a tool and not just a fix all.
jcon 0 Posted August 31, 2009 My doctor only did 3cc's on my first fill also. I felt more restriction before the fill than now!
Portola Suzanne 3 Posted August 31, 2009 All it took for me was 3cc's to be at restriction, everyone is different some take more than others. Trust your doc, it is better to go slow than to be to tight. Best of luck in your journeys!
elcee 3,341 Posted August 31, 2009 3ccs is not conservative by Australian standards. I have a 10ml/cc band. First fill 1.5, 2nd 1, 3rd .6. So here it is really slow and steady. the funny thing is that although I have less than 3ml in a 10ml band I am already starting to feel some restriction. thereitgoes 0 Posted September 1, 2009 My first fill was 4cc's. That was a little over 4 weeks ago. I went in for my 2nd fill and doc said I didn't need one just yet. I have had really good restriction from that first fill. I don't think I will be able to go a full 8 weeks without a fill (which is what he guessed). I hope 3 does if for you...it's a great feeling to know when you need to stop eating in order to not overeat and watch that scale go down. Best of luck!
