When you started going back to solids

Recommended Posts

So I was supposed to go to solids yesturday but couldn't really eat anything cause I didn't have an appetite and I felt sick to my stomach when I took my first bit I started feeling better at night so today I was feeling fine, had yogurt a sugar free Popsicle, and for dinner I had a mashed sweet potato and now I feel like I got to puke it back up, ugh I had like a little over 5 small bites so that makes me worried when I have my solids which I will get on my way tomorrow, I already know I haven't been getting in a lot of cals or Protein it's just hard when you get sick to your stomach you know? But what have you guys have when you first moved to solids? Breakfast/lunch/dinner?

I had my surgery on 8/8 so I'm still not to the solid stage yet for my surgeon. However, my surgeon's nurse (who is also my best friend) let me have broiled halibut the other night and it went down fine. Our surgeon makes us do 2 weeks of liquids, then 2 weeks of mushies, then slowly introduce solids. When was your surgery? Maybe your body just needs more time...don't push it! My friend said that she did and she was MISERABLE for a few days.

I've felt pretty good since I've been on mushies and have only felt like something was "stuck" once...and that was when I took a pill.

In the past week, I have been able to also eat Ritz crackers, chicken salad (pureed in my food processor), melted cheese on scrambled eggs, steamed zucchini (without the skin), oatmeal/cream of wheat, avocado, cottage cheese.< /p>

I know that these aren't technically "solids" but they are healthy and will give you the energy you need.

I also got a B12 shot this week and that really made me feel better.

I went to solids are week 3 and have had no problems at all. I had my first adjustment of 1.5 cc's on the 4th week. starting my 5th week. so far so good, just really full in a few bites.

I was banded July 31st, my dr requested 1 week clear liquid(couldn't get anything down besides Water and a little bit of Protein drink) due to nausea, 1 week full liquids nausea began to get better and I was able to have some Soup, some diet snapple, some Gatorade G2, 2 weeks of mushies, had some oatmeal, sweet potatoes, Gatorade G2 , water, pureed chicken, and mashed veggies. On aug 21st I ate something wrong and that was those new cheetos that like melt in your mouth (literally) and I've been like sick since then and haven't been able to eat much got water and Protein Shakes down tried to get some soup down but it made me feel nauseated, I had a regular mashed potato and it went down fine one day, I got sugar free Popsicles and no sugar added fudgicles I got some yogurt down like a little more than half way empty before I felt nauseated, had some mashed veggies, and today all I had was a yogurt, a Popsicle, two fudgicles, and a sweet potato and two protein shakes and when I had the sweet potato, it made me feel nauseated like what the heck, I see my dr on Wednesday, hopefully he can figure why I'm getting nauseated when I eat and why ive been sick all week grr what is B12 I know it's a Vitamin but what kind?

B12 is a Vitamin and it gives you energy. I know that it's vital for other things too, but that's how it helps me.

Today is my first day of solids and I was able to get down everything I tried. I actually wish it wasn't so easy. I don't even feel resistance at all. I have an appointment next Friday and I'm hoping she gives me a fill. So far I've lost 11 lbs and I don't want to gain any of it back!
