Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor To be banded 9/19...would LOVE a buddy!

Hi! I'm Katie, 29 originally from Northern Virginia but living in Turkey now. I'm being banded in Istanbul on 9/19 and would love someone to talk with, ask questions from, and generally have a life-line! I'm trying to stay optimistic about the upcoming change in my life, especially as I read through all the postings here on the site!

I'm 5'9 and about 260. Goal weight 160.

At my highest I was probably around 300, but I had stopped weighing myself. That was 6 years ago. Within that time I dropped 100lbs through diet, exercise, and change of scenery. However, I slowly gained it back. Now I'm back at 260, and although I can and have lost weight on my own before, I am ready for something that will help me keep it off and reach my goal weight!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to being matched with someone positive and encouraging, but also realistic and honest.

I'm 5 years out and after every diet I had ever been on gained it all back, and then some more so I know what you mean...This time I have been able to keep it off..I'd be happy to answer your questions and provide a cheering section for you..
