Mean People..

I would cry. Not because I'd be hurt in any way (because let's face it, we've all pretty much worked up a thick skin on this topic), but because I can. She's expecting that you're just going to shut up and take it like the good little fat girl you are becasue we all know that the fat girls have no feelings. Work up a good bawl and watch her squirm. Sure, it's passive aggressive to make her feel like crap because she made you cry, but she isn't exactly playing fair either. Make her look like a tool in public, go ahead, you have my permission.

hahahaha. Love this!:) I wish I'd done that; there were plenty of times!

I work at an assisted living facility and when I first started I over heard the residents in the diningroom say look how big she is and blah blah I cried and cried. But the PP was right you can change fat but you can't change ugly! So keep that in mind

When you were 400+lbs no one said anything because you were REALLY big and they kept it to themselves because they were scared to say anything to your face. They viewed you as someone with a disability.

Now at a more "normal" looking ~300 lbs, people feel more comfortable saying something, right or wrong.

When you hit 200 lbs, you'll probably get even more ribbing from people that don't know how much you lost.

When you are only 20-30 lbs overweight, it will be merciless, but semi-good natured.

I don't know why people are like this but many are. Ignore them, most people, unfortunately, are idiots. They have nothing to do with you or your health. Hitting your goals is the best revenge.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
