You're in what's known as "band hell." It's going to take you awhile to get the hang of the tool that you've been given. That being said, I am a slow loser (42 pounds in 10 months). There were times when I was extremely frustrated. However (and it's a big however) I love my band and am so greatful for it. In the beginning, when they told me I'd lose 1-2 pounds a week, I focused on the 2 and even wrote it in my PDA so I'd know how much I would weigh at every month bandiversary. But the weight came off even slower than that! As you can see by my weight loss, it's more like 1 pound a week. Not only that, there were some weeks (and I mean WEEKS) when I didn't lose a thing!!! I despaired, I whined, I cried. But, when I look back, it was easy. And I continue to lose at my snails pace. Do what your doctor tells you. Follow the bandster rules and you'll do great - Just like me:redface:

See my doc gives big fills my first was 3 and second was 2. I have the 10cc band. I just started the gym this week and I'm gonna try eating more Protein and see if that helps.

I hear boosting your Protein helps. Also make sure you are getting enough calories. Sometimes folks stall because they are getting too few calories and their metabolism gets out of wack. At least that is what I've been told. I am a slow looser. I was banded in the end of January. I've lost 35 lbs. most of that in the first four or five months. Since then I have stalled and was really starting to panic about it until I started talking to other folks on this board! It happens, even when we do everything right. You just have to be patient. Stick to it and believe in yourself. I got 5ccs on my first fill and my dr made me feel weird because I had so much and wasn't getting restriction. What can I say. My body apparently wants to do things the hard way.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
