Anyone with 14CC band....

Recommended Posts

Well went for my 4th fill today and was told they were going to measure how much I had in. She said I should be at 7.5 but actually was at 8?? Go figure, so they added 1 cc and now I'm at 9. I had just started to feel slight restriction last fill two weeks ago, so I'm hoping to be at my sweetspot for now! My dr. says I'm doing great on my weightloss and now I go back in four weeks instead of every two weeks.

wow, every 2 weeks? I had my first fill last thursday and I dont go back until October 28th...2 months later...It's interesting how different each doctor is. I'm hoping that I'll still feel restriction until then, but I plan on calling if I don't....they told us to do that in some of the support meetings...

KEVIN-->Goodluck! But, if you are getting sick, you might be too full! Call your doc because if you keep getting sick a few times a week, you can damage your esophagus and will then need a complete unfill, or even have the band removed...call your doc and keep us updated!

Mellabella78--> was this your first fill? Just curious to see if your doc put in all 6 cc's the first time...mine did 5 this past thursday (my first fill) and i feel great! I get full so quickly and don't get hungry again for at least 4-5 hours :)

Hey Barbie... No, I have had 2 fills so far. My Doc is a little more agressive I guess. I had 4 cc , and then 2 more a week later. I did fine:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
