Just curious to know if anyone here is working out while banded, or perhaps you're not working out.

Do share and tell.

Thanks!

OK so......in my mind I am working out, I just can't get my body to cooperate yet!! lol

My surgeon gave me the go ahead for excersie after my 6 week check up. I am walking more now then I have been able to for the last 2 years because of breathing problems. Since being banded I no longer am out of breath after just take a few steps. I love it!!

It was my promise to myself that I would make it a habit to work out after I got banded and I do. Treadmill on an incline three miles a day and weight training to try and tone my sagging. I will try to increase as time goes on and my resisitence increases.

Truthfully - not much at this point. My hubby and I walk 3-4 times a week during the summer. In the colder months, we go to the local "Y" and I work out in the cardio room. I know when I am down to the last 20-30 lbs I'm definitely going to have to kick it up a couple of notches. I have concentrated more on eating better and getting my Protein in and am happy with the results so far.

I was banded 8 days ago and started back to the gym today. I only walked on the treadmill for 30 min but it felt really good. I'm going to take it slow but want to keep going to get back to the workout routine I had before being banded.

I was a lazy bandster and I pay for it now lol.

I lost about 75% of my weight just by changing the amount I eat. I have been plateaud for months now 20lbs from goal so I am gonna have to kick myself in the pants and get goin.

I started working out one week after banding. I tend to be OCD so am up to at least an hour a day 6 days a week. Even with all that I had been 'stuck' for a week at the same weight, but this morning the scale was down FOUR pounds :w00t:.

My body has lost a bunch of inches in just the 5 weeks I've been working out. At least 4 in the stomach and 2 in the chest. Plus by now, after being a WoW potato for the last 4 years I'm guessing I'm putting on some muscle :blushing:.

I go to Curves 4 times per week and ride my bicycle all over the place. I love riding my bicycle. Some mornings I struggle to get up early before work to go to the gym but I always get my 4 times in even if I have to go in the evening after work.

I only lost 8.5 pounds in the past 5 weeks but I lost almost 9 inches in this time. My point is that I've had to fight for each and every pound I've lost.

I didn't work out for the first several months after I was banded, but for the past 3 months, I have been doing an insanely difficult Boot Camp workout 3x a week. Take a look . . www.purepowerbootcamp.com

I love it, and it has made a big difference in how I look!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
