I finally got around to posting some on here and also on my blog. Take a look if you're interested. What an adventure looking through those pictures. A 5 year journey I would do over and over again. LapBand was the best thing that ever entered my life. I love it! lovestruck.gif

wow I have to say, you are a huge inspiration.I looked at your blog pictures, and you just seemed so depressed in your before pictures, now you just glow! And my god you look sooo much younger! Congrats! It's so great that lapband lets you live your life again instead of hiding from it, atleast that's how I feel...

Thank you. I agree. I was very depressed. I am very happy with my results but still struggle with depression. If it's not one thing it;s something else. But, my life has been transformed and for that I am truly grateful!!! I love taking pictures now! Lol.

Congratulations on your success. I have had similar success, and you are right. You resolve one issue and another rears it's ugly head. I am delighted with my progress (I have similar starting weight, and 150 was my original goal--I was able to do a little below goal, so I am thrilled about that)

Now to stay there. Also if I hit the lottery I will be making some plastic surgeon a VERY happy man or woman

You look amazing and I am so happy for you. How long did it take you to get to your target weight/current weight? How long have you been maintaining?

Well....I have a bad memory to tell you exactly, but I believe it was a year. I got to my goal wieght in 1 year and have gained and lost since then. I just recently lost 20lbs since last year. It goes up and down, but for the most part......it's been 4 years since I've been maintaining.

Well, I am still struggling...............its been 17 months since the operation and I still have 50 pounds to go. I too started at 260 (currently 190)............ any suggestions? Should I join a face to face support group?

50 lbs when you think about it is not that much. You're still kinda new so it will come in time. If you feel you are struggling, join a support group. My husband is my biggest support and he can talk me into getting back on track. I would join a support group as well but I have 3 kids and it's hard for me to get away.

You see...it's always going to be a struggle. I still struggle. I'm not home free. At the drop of a sandwich I could be right back where I started. Good luck to you and I hope you are able to find comfort and support to know you are doing it. You are just not done!!!!

As someone who has approximately your pre-band measurements (5'7", 260), you are definitely an inspiration. Congrats on the payoff for all of your hard work.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
