Erin, I have to say, you are an amazing young woman! I wish this had been an option for me at your age and I wonder if I would have been brave enough to do it. I give you kudos for taking control of your life now. And whatever hell you go through this year with band problems, worries or whatever, it will be so worth it when you are the smoking hot 20-something everyone is lusting after. And remember, we're all here anytime you get worried.

Hey Erin,

Don't quote me on this because I may not be correct. My mother-in-law had surgery on her esophogus and they thought she may have to be streched from norrowing. So I think this is something that happens from possibly scarring or the swelling from haveing surgery and then the opening is not large enough. I don't know how common this is, but your definitely not alone. I hope this helps and doesn't scare you more.

I took cosmetology as well! I LOVED it. I had to quit 3 weeks before I graduated due to a tumor in my leg.. but im going back soon! I cant wait!
