SwanGal 0 Posted August 25, 2009 They didn't tell me what. Just said that there was something that they sent off to be biopsied. I take Vicoprofen for my neck and back pain and maybe (after doing some research online about this whole thing) that's what caused there to be something going on? He told me I can't take it anymore and I have to take Lortab which is the same thing but with Tylenol instead of Ibuprofen. I never have tummy issues... or didn't before this biopsy. Now my stomach is BURNING bigtime. I am on Protonix now because of it. Should I be worried? Or is this pretty common stuff???
Effielin 0 Posted August 25, 2009 Are you sure that they did a biopsy because they "found something" or was it just a routine biopsy? My doctor also did a biopsy but it was just a general biopsy of the esophagus.... he does that on all his patients. The nurses told me in the recovery room that they "did a biopsy" and I worried about it also only to find that it was totally routine. Linda
Unforgettable 0 Posted August 25, 2009 Just based on the EGDs that I've witnessed, most of the time a biopsy is taken routinely. Since the doc is down there anyway, may as well do it.
chubbymemaw 0 Posted August 25, 2009 SwanGirl, I had an EGD last week. My doctor also took a biopsy. They called me back yesterday and said that everything was fine. I hope yours was just a routine procedure for your doctor.
SwanGal 0 Posted August 25, 2009 Yes I know it was because they found something because he explained before the procedure that they wouldn't do a biopsy unless he saw something that he wanted to check into further. Praying it's just something minor and no biggy. Surely that's the case. I never have tummy issues - well didn't until this. LOL!
Cleo's Mom 257 Posted August 25, 2009 SwanGal - It is imperative that you get a copy of the EGD and the biopsy results. This is the beginning of your journey and it would be good to start here with keeping a file of all your tests results. My motto? If the doctor sees it, I see it. Good luck.
