I cannot figure out what to do go get past the "I have lost 49 lbs" freeze mark. I have tried the Atkins, Weight Watchers, starving myself. I even started going to Curves about 3 weeks ago and working out 3 times a week. I am still stuck between the 191-195 ratio and I cannot get under that. I even had a fill recently and I feel very restricted but, the scale won't move. HELP! Does anyone have any suggestions for a Plateau Buster.

This might be the reason the scale isn't going down. Because you normally gain more muscle mass during excercise. Muscle takes up less space then Fat cells.

Your problably have lost inches now instead of pounds. Does your clothes feel looser??

Wish you good luck! I go onto 10+ days plateaus all the time, but eventualy I start loosing again.....

But like Chris said, eat a little bit more , it might also jump start your body...

Are you getting in all of your Water? .5 ounces per pound of body weight.

Leo's absolutely right - once you start exercising, particularly weight training, it's more important to look at your measurements than the scale.

Plateaus have a mind of their own, and we all go through them.

You're doing everything right if you're doing the following:

1. getting at least 1200 calories a day (and less than what you'd need to keep your body at its current weight) or the minimum for your goal weight.

2. drinking .5 oz of Water per pound of body weight a day

3. getting in at least 60 grams of Protein a day

4. exercising regularly

5. spreading your daily calories out to at least three meals a day. Many fitness gurus recommend 5-6 meals a day.

I've also read that "shaking it up" is really important - that means alternating the kinds of exercise you do, occasionally spike your caloric intake.

Good luck, and congrats on the 46 pounds!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
