em2370 0 Posted August 24, 2009 I know they say not to get pregnant until a year after. But accidents do happen. Does anybod know if they would still do the surgery if you are about a month along?
Lilpeach_059 0 Posted August 24, 2009 No they will not and probably should not since the surgery is elective and you would be sedated and I do not think that would be healthy for a embryo/fetus. Also your post-op diet would be limited (no good nutrition for baby), your incision(s) will need to heal and with your abdomen expanding that wont help. Also morning sickness might cause your band to slip. There are many reasons why it should not be done, and I do not think any surgeon would do it.
Shauna80 0 Posted September 25, 2009 Nope they wont...not unless its absolutely necessary! This is elective, and they wont risk it. Plus the first 3months are so crucial to the development of the baby, why risk putting chemicals in your body unnecessarily! Good luck with the pregnancy!
