I had that feeling my first week and I didn't get in enough fluids cause I was so sick and I had that feeling again for a day I ate something and It got stuck so I had to do a pb. It's probably mucus if you don't feel good. Usually with a pb I guess you don't really burp but mucus/slimy stuff comes up and the piece you ate. What made me feel better which I didn't want to do but couldn't be avoided tried to avoid it as long as I could and it just happened so it was like a vomiting but not actual vomiting nothing came up wish the feeling in my throat did. But after those episodes I started feeling better after I did that and I don't know why but that was my case with the stuck feeling in my throat sorry if I scared you ):

I had that feeling too my first week, it was the swelling, it just takes time to go down. if you are really concerned I would just call the dr's office just to be sure.

I've had the same problem for 5 weeks now. I had a barium swallow test and discover that I'm having esophageal spasms. am taking medine for it, past two weeks, but still having them.

Did you have a barium swallow test? Do you know whether or not you are also having esophageal spasms?

hope you get better soon, it is miserable to always be aware of the band...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
