Yay, finally a loss!

Last week 224.8

This week 222.2

A loss of 2.6 pounds, but since I put on .2 last week, it's actually 2.4 towards my goal of a loss of 10.6. 8.2 to go!

I'm not sure what the difference was this week, but I'll bet it was the yard work I did, in addition to my Curves workouts. I was also able to cut my evening nibbling waaaay back. I can do this!!

Hello,

I love seeing your victories because it reminds me that I can do this.

Last week 206

This week 202

Loss 4

Goal 195 (7 to go)

This is a big loss because I got a fill on 9/3/09 and thought I would have to have some taken out because even liquids were going down very slowly. I am better with pure liquids but still very restricted. We decided to leave it and see how it goes and so far I am satisfied.

Keep it up! We can do this

Hi All!

I just joined today. My goal is to loose a total of 50 lbs since I started by Halloween - so that's about 9.5 lbs to go.

Looking forward to following all of your progress and supporting each other.

Welcome to the challenge! I've added you to the spreadsheet.

I haven't weighed yet this week. I ended up going out of town yesterday and had too much high fat/high sodium food. Gonna try a liquid detox tomorrow, then I'll hop on the scale.

Welcome! I would love to hear more about the indigestion issues. Since my last fill, I am having serious issues with GERD. We are trying a different medicine but if something doesn't change soon I am going to need to call my lapband doc. The acid is so bad that it is effecting my voice.

On the good note, I am down 2 lbs to 200 lbs. :( I actually saw onederland this week but of course not on the official weigh-in day. Looking forward to next week when surely onederland will be a permanent fixture in my life.

Keep working and let us know how you are doing!

tutornmom, be careful with that. It could mean that you're too tight. Don't let it go to long.

As for me, I've been out of town the last couple of Fridays (just got home tonight) and haven't weighed in yet. I'll post next Friday. We'll see what happens as I've had a fever & chills flu bug that closed me up tight. I haven't eaten since Wed night's dinner (woke up w/it thurs). :blushing:

scale will probably look really good in the AM once I jump on but by Friday, since I'm feeling better, probably won't look so good! LOL! We'll see!

Have a fantastic week y'all!

Good Friday Morning everyone!

Okay, here are my stats over the last couple of weeks. Being out of town and getting sick messed me up!

9/4 - 175.2

9/11 - 176.7

9/18 - no WI, out of town and sick w/flu but probably would've been up since I ATE really well and loved every minute of it til I got sick! LOL!

9/25 - 174.9

Goal is 170lbs.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Way to go Heartfire! Keep it up!

Hi everyone! I never got back with my results last week, but they were pretty bad. In fact, from the time I went out of town last week up til about Wednesday, I was a chow-hound. I think a lot of it was hormonal and I just didn't feel like fighting it. I also did not step foot into Curves all week - I feel like a slug. At one point I was actually up 4 pounds from my last weigh-in on the 11th, but I got on the scale today and had lost 3 of the 4. So, that puts me at 1 pound up from my last report on 9/11, which I'll take! (especially since it is TOM)

In a nutshell:

Last weigh-in 9/11 220.2

Today 221.2

Gain of 1 pound

Next week will be MUCH better!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
