T&tummy 0 Posted August 20, 2009 My weight loss slowed a little and I also wanted to give my band a rest so I decided to shake things up. I replaced two of my meals during the day with Protein Shakes. At dinner I would eat a high Protein meal (fish or chicken). I started on Tuesday and am down 3lbs. My question is will it hurt if I continue to do this until AUG 24th?
greytz 4 Posted August 20, 2009 I wouldn't think so. I know my surgeon told me not to do that right now but I am early in the game. You may want to check with your surgeon and make sure it is ok. The Protein Shakes are slider foods and you may show weight loss for a couple of days simply because it is liquid but my surgeon keeps putting in my head that the band is designed for solid food and I won't be successful if I use slider foods or liquids all the time. It is better to get your protein from a solid form, and that will keep you fuller longer... but if this is just a little short term jumpstart....whatever works for you! T&tummy 0 Posted August 20, 2009 Thanks all! My thinking is this would only be a short term thing, Until Friday, then I would just do a Protein Shake for Breakfast. I am finding that my band is tighter in the morning. I only have 2cc in my band.
Bandster25 0 Posted August 20, 2009 My doctor said that it's healthy to use Meal Replacements for 2 meals a day, so it sounds fine. Since Protein Shakes tend to be slider foods, you could have Protein Bars instead. I find that some of them taste a lot better than the shakes, and they keep me full for a long time.
