lovecats85 2 Posted October 1, 2005 Had surgery this morning. I feel ok. I can sleep just fine - as long as I get in a comfortable spot and don't move I'm fine. The hydrocodone probably helps too! I have a bit of shoulder pain but other than that I just feel a terrible pain in my side when I get up and down. I am sipping Water and Protein Shakes (1 ounce of each) and walking 2 minutes or so everytimg I wake up from this constant napping. Is this ok? Is the side pain normal? It feels like a sore muscle but maybe it's gas? I love you guys so much - I could never have done this without ya'll and your support! I keep waiting to feel awful but I don't yet. If my recovery stays like this it'll be a breeze. I never would have imagined I'd be feeling as ok as I do! But I do just want to make sure the I-just-ran-5-miles-type of side pain is normal. lovecats85 2 Posted October 1, 2005 Also, I don't feel at all like I need to burp or fart - when does this start?
lovecats85 2 Posted October 1, 2005 One more ? - I got the smallest band - I am worried that it will be too tight when I have a baby. The doctor seemed really happy the smallest band fit though - he was less worried about slippage.
KRZYGIRLNSTL 0 Posted October 1, 2005 Yup your feeling everything as you should. Perfectly normal. The shoulder pain i never got but apparently the Dr's like move ya around alot in surgery and causes shoulder pain...anyway...i never had alot of gas eaither i think it just depends on the person. Congrats and good luck!
KRZYGIRLNSTL 0 Posted October 1, 2005 Oh, my Dr. gave me a bigger band but it all depends on the patient. They will work the same. The Dr. told me i could have children with either. So i would assume thats right.
the best me 6 Posted October 1, 2005 Yep. You are normal. And fortunate to feel as good as you do! Yay! Side pain, yep, Give it a few days for the gas. You may get it still. Band size has to do with your internal anatomy. Once your post-op swelling goes down, you will not be too tight for pregnancy. It took me 3 months before my first fill. I was super tight post-op. But it did, indeed, loosen to where even I wanted a small fill. As you lose weight, you lose it from the inside, too, and the band loosens more. You'll be fine. No worries! You are doing great!!!!!!
