Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Ok I need some help with a few things please . . .

Recommended Posts

Ok, first things first where do I set up my signature? I am fairly computer savy and I have been on forums before but I can't seem to find how to set one for myself?

Next, I am wondering how you guys got your picture on the thing when you post, almost like an avatar? I upload a pic to an album under my account but I don't see where it says you can add it to your profile/posts?

And lastly, I am wondering if this is a "group" I need to join or do I just post on the the threads in here and that does it?

Sorry to sound so ignorant but I want to get these things figured out so I can involved in the postings. I think support is the biggest key to success and from what I have read so far you are all so wonderfully supportive!!

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hey Jess!

You are able to make all of these changes under your 'user cp.' Click on USER CP at the top of the page on the far left, underneath the before and after polaroids. Once that page loads, you can 'edit signature' or 'edit avatar' as well as other options on the left hand side.

No need to join a group per se, although there are groups that you can join on here. But you can continue to post as you have been with no problems.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
