I also take Viactiv for Calcium - a chocolate fix! And I do a liquid vitiam/mineral from GNC. I can't stand the taste of any chewables. At least you can get the liquid down in one quick swallow.

I am a little over 2 months post-op, and have been trying different Vitamins to see which I like best. I currently rotate them.

For multi-vitamins, I use:

GNC Solotron chewable - 2 tablet. fruit flavored. Tastes pretty good. Has a high % of Vitamins & minerals, often over 100%, which my nutritionist says is not necessary.

Trader Darwin (Trader Joe) High Potency Chewable - Fruit flavored - 1 tablet. I like the taste. Less % on some vitamins/minerals, but usually 100%.

Trader Darwin (Trader Joe) Gummy Multivitamin. Love the taste but missing Biotin, zinc, Iron and other minerals.

For Calcium, I alternate between:

Caltrate 600 D plus - Fruit flavored chewable. I like the taste. Contains calcium citrate, which most surgeons/ nutritionists recommend.

Viactive calcium chews - chocolate or caramel. Yum! Has Calcium carbonate, but my nutritionist says I can take either.

GNC calcium chews - chocolate or caramel. calcium carbonate. Super yum!

All of the above also contain Vit D, which is important to take. However Caltrate has 400 IU, Viactive has 500 IU, and GNC has 100 IU, so if you have a Vit D deficiency, which many people do, you should choose accordingly.

Hope this helps.

Joan

Centrum chewables 2X a day...orange flavored and they're fine (I was allowed these or twice as many of the Flinstones gummis). I take the chocolate flavored Calcium with D&K twice daily as well.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
