What do you eat in a typical day?

Recommended Posts

Just checking to see what is typical of what you would eat in a day. Assuming you are at restriction. I have done searches but am having trouble finding what people eat and what size portions they eat. Thanks,

Greg

I just had my first fill a week ago, but have a great amount of restriction...maybe I'll be those lucky few who hit their sweet spot after only 1 or 2 fills.

Anyway here is my menu from yesterday

Breakfast - 1/2 cup greek yogurt w/1tbsp Peanut Butter

lunch - reduced fat hot dog, no bun, and 1/4 cup green Beans

snack - banana

dinner - 1/2 homemade hamburger, 1/2 bun top, a few bites of baked Beans

That's not my normal menu, I was out visiting family yesterday. Usually I have the greek yogurt for Breakfast and it will keep me full for a good 4 hours. I also use it as a snack if I get hungry in between meals.

i was banded april 22nd and finally had my first fill 2 weeks ago and am at my sweet spot. a typical day for me is a glass of ff milk for Breakfast (sometimes i have cottage cheese instead for the protein) lunch is seafood salad or tuna salad and dinner is tilapia and steamed vegs. my serving size is very very small - for lunch, literally 4 or 5 bites and im done which is less than 1/2 cup. dinner is a 2 oz tilapia filet and less than 1/2 cup of vegs. i don't really snack but if i do it's a bite of fruit or a few quaker mini rice Snacks. i have lost a little over 60 pounds and feel great!

Typical day for me: The breakfast and lunch doesn't change but dinner is always different.

Morning coffee 1 cup regular w/creamer, then 1 cup instant mixed with EAS AdvantEdge Protein shake.

B: 3/4 cup cottage cheese &

1 pouch of 100 cal snack.< /span>

L: Snickers Marathon Bar & 1 oz chips

(I can't seem to give these up, but 1 oz is 150 calories.)

D:Chicken/Burger/Fish, 3 oz plus veggies and maybe 2-3 bites of potato/rice/pasta.

During the day, I get all my 64 oz of liquid and when I just need to put something in my mouth, I have tic tacs (Orange) or VoJo mints. Tic tacs are a great way to wait the 30 minutes for a drink!

I eat a little bit more these days as I'm maintaining and my restriction has waned a bit over about a year without fills.

Typically, for breakfast I'd eat a bowl of muesli (standard 1/2 cup size serving) with maybe a little bit of sliced banana on it and some skim milk or one of those gourmet greek yogurts with the pureed fruit. Mid morning I usually try to eat a piece of fruit (not really hungry but try to eat a piece of fresh fruit a day). lunch is things like a salad (about a Cereal bowl full of leafy vegies, and things like carrot, Tomato, mushrooms, cucumuber, and a Protein like tuna or egg), maybe cheese and crackers (4 or 5 crackers and small slices of cheese), sometimes a sandwich on wholegrain bread and very occasionally, an Aussie classic junk item - the sausage roll or meat pie (very occasionally!). Mid afternoon I'll usually sneak some sort of crap in, a cookie or two with a cuppa after work. dinner is nearly always healthy, we dont eat much junk for dinner in our house - could be anything, roast chicken, steamed veg, home made bolognaise, chilli, dahl, curries, stews, Soups, last night we had the most delicious lamb cutlets, with salad. I eat about a cup total for dinner.

Oh, a couple of nights a week I'll have a glass of wine.

Most days it totals up to somewhere between 1500 and 1800 calories.

when i was losing, I never had the extras and it usually totalled 1200 to 1500. 1500 would have been a big day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
