my weight loss has been on the slow side. up until last week I had lost approximately 23 pounds since march 25th.

WELL, I just had my fourth fill on Monday and as of today have lost 7 pounds (in five days)

Im not complaining about the weight loss but Im worried about it being healthy

Have you been able to eat good foods without being too tight? Are you able to drink all of your fluids for the day? Are you sure you're eating the right foods and exercising?

If so, you may have hit your sweet spot and are dropping the pounds. If you want to be safe you can always double check with your doc. If you aren't able to take in an appropriate amount of food or liquids, or are vomiting frequently then talk with your doctor.

I have beeb losing weight pretty steady the first 3 weeks post op then ddnt lose any. I had my first fill most 2 weeks ago. I went down 6 lbs the first week, now Ive gained it back. Im getting another fill on sept 1. My doc said I might have lots of restriction at first cause my stomach is getting used to the new tightness, once that wore off, my appetite it back and I gained weight....its weird!

I would think some of that may have to do with only being on liquids and mushies the first couple of days. Sometimes right after a fill, I will drop 4-5 lbs super quick and then level back out.

Make sure you are getting in your Water and you aren't dehydrated. If you are tracking/journaling your food, are you getting in your recommended Protein? Sounds like you are not eating much, 1 bite of meatball and 1 bite of Pasta. If you aren't able to get anything more down by Monday, you might want to call your doc.

You could be a tad tight from slight swelling. Some people swell a bit when they get a fill. I have not really felt like that, but I have heard that others do get some swelling after a fill and that can make you feel real tight.

I hope you are feeling better and able to get some of that Protein shake down!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
