I am terrified of being put under and something going wrong. I'm a single Mom and already feeling bad that I wont be able to take my daughter trick or treating. I am starting at 195 and have a BMI of 33. Would love to chat with someone who is close to my BMI. Good Luck Everyone.

heidelfinc 0 Posted October 11, 2009 I hear you on that fear. two years ago I lost 50# and was doing well, then I sort of bottomed out and gained it all back. super depressing, so here I am doing this big act to try to keep the weight off once and for all. altopower 1 Posted October 16, 2009 My surgery is two weeks from today and the only liquid diet I've heard about from my surgeon is the 2 weeks AFTER the surgery. I know that there isn't one uniform plan that everyone follows, but what is the benefit for being on liquids before the op? Maybe it's something I should do for myself even if he didn't require me to? Tho I don't know that I could last weeks and weeks on Clear Liquids - the 2 weeks post-op now seems like forever. Advice? I would call your doctor.... most pre-op diets are to shrink the liver so that the doctor has an easier time placing the band.... I didnt have a liquid diet I had a very low carb diet.
