Good LORD! If you are unable to see the hoochie-coochie to trim properly, can you imagine what the beast will look like under the glare of O.R. lights???! I hope the surgeon doesn't drop an instrument in there a lose it!!!!

Totally commando! No nail polish, deoderant, or anything! Hopefully your surgeon has done enough of these that he/she has seen it all as far as the coochie upkeep is concerned! No wories, they give you some good juice and it is over before you know it!

I had all male nurses and they felt bad for me because I was on my period so they let me keep my undies on :)

Commando. I'm normally a very shy person and was really nervous about people seeing me in the buff, but I got over it very quickly. I figure that the doctors and nurses have seen it all before anyway. Plus, once the pre-surgery happy meds started kicking in, I didn't really care what happened anymore.

I had my period also and I begged them to let me keep my panties on and they did....LOL...I told them I would bleed all over the table if they didn't LOL!

I had nothing on under the gown, but I had two nurses who were really good about laying me down and putting warm blankets on me before removing the gown. Then they put me under before they took anything off, so I was never "naked" while conscious. For some reason it made a difference for me since I wasn't alert when they saw me naked.....weird?

My bird was flying free!!! When I woke up my boo boo (4 year old daughter terms) felt weird. I ventured down under and there was a catheter. I was told that most likely I would not have one. No biggy one less thing to do.

I'm with ya Carrie. They couldva made it an extreme make over! A little off here a little off there! I would have loved coming to with my boobs standing up like they used to instead of laying over like 2 old hound dogs! LOL LOL. OOO an a wax and some Lipo too. They would have had to tell me who I was.

As far as the original post. I was naked.. and I asked my nurse to make sure that I was good and asleep before they displayed all my glory.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
