Visiting the family and ate really bad last night.

Recommended Posts

So, I'm visiting my parents for a few days. Last night I went for a drive and passed my favorite pizza restaurant from high school. I had an incredibly weak moment, looked up their number on my phone and ordered a medium pepperoni pizza. I took it home (parents already in bed), went to my bedroom and ate all of it but one slice. :sneaky::blink::frown:

I'm 12 days post op from getting banded! I didn't think I'd be able to eat like that. I did chew chew chew and everything went down ok. This morning I had bad cramps though. I feel like such a failure. I've been by the book with my eating until last night.

This morning I drove down to the beach and took a 45 minute walk along the Water and had my Vitamins, Protein Shake, and met some high school buds for lunch. I had 1/2 a grilled chicken wrap and felt full. They were really supportivee. I let them eat my chips :w00t:

I guess this post is because I feel like I need to tell someone I slipped, but I'm back on track. I don't want to be this big forever.

RL,

Everybody slips from time to time. What's important is that you recognize what you did and have already taken the necessary steps to getting things back in order.

Sounds like you are back on track, so don't beat yourself up about it. Next time, hopefully you'll be stronger. Def try not to eat alone, especially at night, it's so much easier to overindulge. If you had family or friends watching, you probably would have stopped at 1 or 2 slices.

Keep up the good work, this is a marathon, not a sprint, so you just have to pace yourself and keep on keeping on!

Tell your doc. You may have hurt yourself. Plus honestly you may need a little therapy to get over the head hunger/emotional issues involved with eating. I don't mean this unkindly (I'm going to a therapist myself right now) but the post op diet is for a reason...to allow your band to heal in place...and eating most of a medium pizza is dangerous. The bad cramps tell me your body didn't handle it well.

I don't mean you need to "confess" to your doc, ok? But you are under medical care and may have harmed yourself, not meaning to. Call, let him decide if you're ok or if you need tests to check yourself out.

And stick to your post op diet.

Great advice!

I think it is also great that you felt like you could come here and say what you needed to say and move on in a positive direction. Many people eat secretly and would never let anybody know, and that also tends to lead to more overeating.

You are NOT a failure. If slipping meant that we were failures, I don't know of one person on this board that wouldn't fit into that category.

A couple of things you did right, you admitted it to yourself that it was an "oops" and you came here and told others about it. I think being held accountable is key for us and if you promise to post every time you slip, then you will think twice next time (or at least I do).

Don't beat yourself up, it is what it is and you can't go back and change it. Learn something about yourself from the experience and move forward!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
