After I got home (I'd posted earlier at work), I "caught up" my journal for the last couple of days that I'd missed. It actually made me feel good, I've been on track without having to write it down. It was a positive reinforcement for me, to see it visually. It also helps me assess if I fluctuate a few pounds within days, to see if I did something funky, or if maybe I'm retaining Water or what. I am able to see patterns this way. It also is a nice reference, I find myself looking back at previous pages a lot to see different components of this or that, or some note that I jotted, or some amt./combo that was calorie-friendly. :-)

..I totally get the reminders of diets failed too though.. not worth it if that's what it brings you. Do what works! :-)

I like SparkPeople.com. The site is free and easy to navigate. It has a lot of nice features like customizing your own goals (protein, calories, etc). They also have tons recipes.< /p>

I am wondering how many of you are journaling your food. Why or why not? My program recommended it but didn't say I had to. I haven't been and I am wondering if I should. If you are keeping track are you doing it on the computer? On paper?

Just curious!

I'm journaling because you need to keep up with your calorie intake. No matter what tool you have or what program you are doing to lose weight, bottom line is your calorie intake. My Dr. said to eat between 800 and a 1000 cal. a day. I journal on Sparkpeople.com.It is free and a very good support group.:(

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
