Hello Everyone!

I was just banded on Friday, August 7th. I am feeling a lot of hunger. I am drinking four oz. of liquid every hour. I am hoping this hunger subsides. Did this happen to anyone?

Many people report that they're not hungry for a while after they have surgery. I went in hungry, came out hungry, and remained hungry until I could eat solid foods! I did discover, however, that some of the signals I thought were from hunger were actually just general tummy rumblings because my stomach was upset with me.

I was starving. It's normal...people seem to either feel one way (starved) or the other (don't think they'll ever be hungry again!) For both...it passes.

Just hang in there; follow your post op diet exactly as it was given to you, and you'll do fine!

I was also banded on Aug. 7 and it hasn't been easy with the hunger. I am starving! This liquid diet is no fun at all, BUT we need to stick with it so we can properly heal. Everytime I feel like I am going to cave in I come on this site and it inspires me again. Just remember, NOTHING tastes as good as being skinny feels!

Good luck and hang in there, it will get easier... it can't get any worse lol. I was someone who would eat out 3 times a day, so this is a major change for me, however we all were ready for that change when we made the choice to get banded. Keep up the good work!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
