MustLooseIt 0 Posted August 10, 2009 Hi well everyones body is diffrent. We all loose at a diffrent rate. I am sorry you are feeling down. 30 pounds is Great! I am also looking for people to give me support in this journey. It seems no one on here ever sends me a message. I had a hard time right after my surgery. I am glad I have a loving family to help support me. I just feel that even if the weight loss is slow at least its starting to come off. I just think of how hot I will be by next year! If you would like to message me feel free..I am always looking for new friends.
health4life 0 Posted August 10, 2009 Nothing will work unless you do. - John Wooden Even though you may not "feel" like working out, just do it. Do something if it's no more than going for a walk with family or friends. You'll be amazed at how that in and of itself will give you the motivation to do more because it makes you feel so good. Keep your head up, you're doing great! Hello All,I was banded on June 3rd and have only lost 30lbs so far. FailureIsntAnOption 0 Posted August 10, 2009 30 pounds since June 3rd is fantastic! I can't believe you aren't happy with this??? Do you know that the average weight loss for lap banders is 1-2 pounds per week? You are losing at the rate of 3 pounds per week. All I can tell ya is what I do to stay motivated. I set aside a certain time of day to work out and just do it. No excuses! Unless you are running a fever or throwing up you must make yourself stick to an exercise regimen. If I can do this anybody can do it.
gitrdone 0 Posted August 10, 2009 Hiya Loved :-), right now outdoor activity in FL is hard to do if you haven't been doing it. I had my surgery in July '09, and can't be back in my kayak til six weeks after surgery. So I joined the rec center in the city closest to me. It has a really nice weight room with treadmills, eliptical machines, recumbent bikes, nautilus equipment and a TON of free weights. I spend an hr a day there right now. It's fun and comparitively affordable [especially when you compare a regular gym membership]. You might also consider checking out a work-out DVD from your library. Just something to get you started til the cooler weather comes around and you can start your in-line exercise. You can DO it!
PMNURSE64 0 Posted August 10, 2009 30lbs since 6/3 is fantastic, your doing great.I know exercise can be tough especially when you first start.I know for me I have to push myself because it is so much easier to sit on the couch than it is to get up and moving but afterwards you feel so much better and everyday it gets easier and before you know it you'll actually want to exercise.Keep up the good work. RestlessMonkey 7 Posted August 10, 2009 You've lost 30 pounds in 2 months. Considering the 'average" loss is 1-2 pounds a week, I think you're ahead of the curve. Maybe you should first quit expecting too much of yourself? Lap band isn't bypass you know!! You're doing great. Keep doing what you have been; that's my suggestion!

lessofm3 0 Posted August 10, 2009 30 pounds since June 3rd? That's fantastic! Like others have said everyone loses at their own rate. You can't compare your weight loss to others. Also, keep in mind you didn't put on your excess weight overnight, so you're not going to lose it overnight. Remember, slow and steady wins the race!
LovedinFL 0 Posted August 11, 2009 Hey thank you sooo much everyone for your support and words of wisdom.... I know 30lbs is a lot and I know the process will be slow. I guess its like im in that stuck in the middle stage you know in between sizes. To little for my regular clothes but not quite small enough to be in a smaller size. That is annoying. And I do just have to get working out in to my everyday routine. Once I can get it to be part of my routine I know I will feel weird when the day comes that I don't work out. I am so happy that I chose to do this for my life and my families life. They are very supportive through all this but sometime you just need to here some wisdom from the people who know exactly what you are feeling. So thanks again, Everyone and we will all be GREAT success stories for our future I just know it. Im on my way to becoming one hot MILF...(LMAO)
