Does anyone go to the chat room?

Recommended Posts

I have checked in there a few times, but no one else was there.

Think the chat room would be more utilized if we had scheduled times to be there. Maybe a "newbie chat" at 6:00 M-F, Saturday Night Live from 9-? for all the party bandsters, etc... We would just need to give a time zone and info.

Just a thought.

It occasionally works out when it's a scheduled chat.

Here is why I don't prefer the chat room.

1) I can't type without typos worth diddly squat so jumping into a conversation is hectic, requires lots of concentration, and I can barely keep up.

2) I have young children and 'puter time is frequently interrupted (me: "what am I, your mother? Can't you see I'm chatting?!!!!!" you get the picture)

3) I can walk away from a post or thread at any given time and come back at lesiure...just can't happen in a chat room.

Anyhow, that's why I'm never there. But the times I have chatted at night after everyone is in bed, it's been fun!

OH! reason #4) typing late at night after everyone is in bed is actually pretty loud. The office is on the bedroom hall and right next to the Master where hubby gets aggravated at the click click click of the typing when he's trying to sleep. sigh.

That's why for me, anyway.

Ya'll pic a time and I'll jump in if I can!!! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
