I was wondering what everyone munches on when the go to the movie theater. I love going to the movies and I used to eat popcorn, soft pretzels, and candy. Popcorn is totally off my list according to the doc. And I had my surgery on July 27th and I am already on normal food. Hopefully someone has some creative ideas cause I don't have any!

This is a hard one for me too because I LOVE popcorn and my DH always has to have it. Last time we went I took some sea-salted almonds. Not as good as popcorn, but it gave me Protein and something to crunch on!

I don't munch anymore I just take a bottle of Water. Mindless munching at the movies is one of the things that helped make us fat!

I just went to the movies, and took a bottle of flavored water. The dietician I see in the program I'm in doesn't allow snacking between meals, only 3 meals a day with measured portion sizes.

I love the movies. I go pretty regularly. I munch on bottled Water and thats about it. Sometimes my fiancee gets a hot dog or something but he always finishes it before the movie starts so hes not eating during the movie (sometimes that makes me wish a little that I were also eating during the movie).

I do give myself a treat occasionally but I try not to associate it with the movies, and rather just be mindful while I'm eating (if I eat during the movie, it will be completely mindless).

I go to the movies often with my son (think....Transformers, G-Force, GI Joe.....)

I usually get him a small popcorn and I indulge in a couple of bites. I also always bring my own Water with crystal light in it and any combination of the following: sf candy, beef Jerky, nut & high Fiber Cereal mix, Protein Bar. Ease into the changes. I used to feel a little deprived in the beginning, but honestly, now that I am at my "sweet spot", I often drink the water and don't even touch the snacks!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
