tish76 0 Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) Hi Guys, How can you tell if you stretched your stomach pouch? Also once it is stretched, is there away to shrink it without surgery? Thanks guys!! Edited August 9, 2009 by tish76
Macro 0 Posted August 9, 2009 I have a friend who had a stomach sleeve done rather than a lap band. The data is only about 5 years old for that procedure, but she has been warned my our surgeon (the same doctor did my lapband) that the thinking is that there is a chance that the stomach may stretch if over-filled repeatedly. Of course, that's for the sleeve, and I know we can't generalise about the band. Perhaps talk to your doctor? Mandy
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted August 9, 2009 You have to overeat consistently and that's kind of hard (not impossible though) to do, with the band. If it does stretch I believe the treatment is generally to do an unfill and leave it that way for a while (month or so) to see if the pouch goes back to normal. Your doc can tell you more.
