My docs office said that I should be taking the pain meds more often. I have a 4 year old and was afraid to take the meds with us alone. My mom picked her up yesterday, so I took the meds. I took a long nap with a warm heating pad. The gas pain is still very bad! The dietician suggested Powerade Zero, Crystal Light Hydration, Centrun silver chewable and Unjury Protein drinks. The pain radiates from my left shoulder/neck to my chest to my stomach. It hurts to breath. The incisions are starting to itch (healing). Am I the only person with 7 incisions? I have three on the right, three on left and one above the navel. My strong husband looked sick when he was the cuts. I am feeling better today. I still don't know where my port is, my entire tummy is soft. Again, thanks ladies for the support!!!

Definitely try and take the pain meds, or at least Tylenol. My gas pain is still pretty bad. Very much in my left shoulder, and my chest hurts really badly when I burp. If I take the pain meds, it takes the edge off the nerve pain. Hope we feel better soon! ;-)

Band 75- You need to consult your doc, it shouldnt be like that. Yes it was major surgery but still, how about trying Isopure instead, they're a lil pricet but it should help you out. It might be that you're not tolerating lactose also and that maybe contributing to the whole thing. But I also agree that it soundsl iek you're dehydrated.

Sending u some prayer !!!

IT'S A NEW DAY!!!

I am felling much better. I am still having the gas pains, but they come in intense short spells. I weighed myself this morning 199.5. My first thought was YOU GO GIRL, but I'm like that is too much. I don't want to look emaciated, but rather slim and trim. I am going out later this afternoon...beautiful day in Maryland! I have been in the house since Sunday! I need some Soup, Vitamins, and Protein shakes/water. I have spent so much on these nasty vitamins and shakes. I go back to work Monday...RATS! I am going to start exercise after my post-op appt next week. Nothing crazy, just thetreadmill 30 minutes a day. Doc said no upperbody exercise for at least 1 month.

Is anyone having hot flashes???

Where in the is my port? Did I get a Big Lots band?

Today is a new day isn't it. I do feel better today too.. Thank Goodness. I wasn't for sure yesterday. I am still having some gas pains. I also am not having the nausa like I did yesterday. I am hoping that is gone away. Thinking about going back to work on Monday too. I guess I will just have to see how that does. All I got to say the ones that go right back, your tough. Well I hope everyone is feeling better. I also did get out of the house this morning and took girls to get there shots. Hurts to drive. I think we are all gonna make it.. LOL

I'm still having a ton of left shoulder and arm pain. It gets so intense that my mom had to help me up from a laying position today because when I tried to sit up on my own I had shooting pains in my arm. I have my post op tomorrow so I'm hoping he can tell me if there is anything that I can do for this.

Hey ladies, my consensus is the same things are better today but I feel that the gas gets a little worse after my Soup. My naseau is better and I think I just need to sleep in more of an incline tonight and see what happens. I got 3 hours on the recliner this morning and seem to do fine.

Jen let me know how it goes tommorow. maybe they can give you a shot for the pain or something? do you have to see the nutrionist too ? What Soups have you been having ? I just tried some very watery lentil soup done in the blender.

Okay girls hope we all feel better tmrw !!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
