Hi everyone

Well, Its all done now, had my band fitted on Wednesday the 5th August 2009.:scared2:

Toaday is day 2 post op, I have to say I feel pretty good,

I was discharged from hospital less than 24hrs after my op.

I have been moving around most of the day and yesterday even took my 2 little dogs for a walk yesterday, (think I went a bit too far as i felt quite dizzy when i got back)

Now i have been eating the prescribled CLEAR liquid diet only, and am wondering if any one has found any supermarket veggie Soups that they would recommend??

I started at 101kg and today am down to 97.5kg, i suspect its only Fluid, but i still feel great about it, ( can anyone tell me where i find that little weight measuring thing tool on here?

ta

catch you all soon, Caz

I don't know about your brands in Australia...but I just strained Campbell's chicken noodle during clears...or occasionally the "Progreso" Soups that arev"light" and have WW points on them...I'd strain, give husband the "stuff" and I'd drink the broth.< /p>

Yeah, I'm pretty tough and I was REALLY motivated and I just couldn't go plain old "broth". I tried. But the other works fine as long as it's well strained! :scared2:

Congrats on your band! :tt1:

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
