Morning, set my alarm for 9:30, so I just got up. Have lots of projects planned to help control my food. I have to leave at 12:30 because of a showing and won't be able to come home until 3:00. No money to go shopping, so I think I will drive around and dream about houses. Should go to school and grade papers, bleck. Who knows. Actually, what I think I will do, (just thought of it), do a drive by houses, then I'm parking the car and am going to do my 3 miles.

On the July condo, I'm in, but I won't be able to pay my share until closer to July. So if someone will cover my share until my house is sold and I have a few paychecks from the nursery, I'll be there.

Good morning ladies. Late night, tried to sleep in, but the kids didn't like that idea. They just keep fighting and yelling. I think I might have to throw them out into a snowbank.

I'm loving the idea of a house instead of a hotel for the July get together. There are so many nice ones in the area with so many different positives. It will be a tough decision.

Okay...I've gotta go get ready for the day. Don't know what we're going to do, but going to do it, even if it's wrong.

I think we've zoned in on the Camano Island home. It's on the Water with a beautiful view, not more than 1/2 hr from where we live, has RV parking so can bring the RV for extra beds, close to outlet mall, casino, restaurants.

It's 60 miles from the airport. We'll figure that out. Hoping Tracy will help with transportation. It's $200/night plus $200 cleaning fee... so I guess that would be $1000 for the four nights. Not too bad divided up. We will have to reserve it soon since it's a holiday weekend.

So, you all need to look at it closely... do your own research if you want.... zero in on Snohomish County if you do that... Candice found a place in Spokane!! That's 6 hrs away on the other side of WA state! LOL! So, stick with Snohomish County if you want to look some more. But this is one of the few I found that was affordable and big enough. It has 2 bedrooms, one king size bed, I think it's twins in the other but I looked at so many I'm not sure... Then it has two pullout beds. If we need more sleeping space... I will borrow blow up mattresses. I think Tracy may have one.

HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAY!!!.............. yeah, right. Last time I pulled that, I ran into my sisters restaurant, hit a patch of Water and fell on my behind. OUCH.

Been feeling pretty good lately. The sun's been out and I've been to the gym four times this week. This morning, I tried out the eliptical. Went 1/2 mile at 3.2/mile (10 minutes) 1/2 mile on the treadmill at 3.2/mile, 2 1/2 incline, and then went and hit all the weight machines for abs. And I got in 1/2 hour pedaling before going. Going back on Monday. food choices have been pretty good too. (meals that is) Got to stop the snacking. I am really looking forward to Washington. I've never been to that part of the country but I am so afraid air fare or the train is going to way out of my price range, so I've been putting off calling DD to find out rates. I will though. This week. Then I will discuss it with Brad and get back with you as soon as I can. I do have to have my knee done and my tummy tuck...SOON.

After reading all these posts from the past week, I've forgotten whatever I was going to respond to.

Depression/suicide? _ been there, done that.

Insomnia - guess it must be something to do with the moon cycle. I've had it too.

Cameras? my neice teaches photography and she swears by Canon. Says they are the best.

House selling? Karla, don't even respond when an offer is so ridiculus. Flat out reject it. Don't even bother with a counter-offer.

Karri's job as a teacher? Hey, that is exactly the kind of teacher I wanted my kids to have. They each had one or two of them and they were the ones who made a difference for them. So, don't knock it. Me, with my teaching degree, well, let's just say I am at the other end of the spectrum. That's why I never taught, just subbed. Hey, I wouldn't have wanted me to teach one of my own kids, how could I teach other kids.

Phyl, your pictures are fantastic. awesome. I can't believe the difference even from last summer.

Okay, Think I'm long winded enough here. I know I'm forgetting a bunch of crap but then, what do you expect from someone with sometimers disease.

TTYL. adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehn, what ever.

Hi ladies. Quiet day in my world. Mom and I did some housework and then we just sort of hung out.

Phyl, I love that house. The only other one that I saw that I really liked was at Seattle vacation house rental unit_3030525 - Elegant Waterfront Manor It wasn't as cheap and don't know about being available that week, but it's a beautiful property.

Rose and I will be driving so we can help with shuttling too.

My headache is back. I just can't seem to shake it. I'll be doing really well until about 4pm and then bam! kicks my butt!

I have movies to return so I'll talk to you all later. Love you ladies!

Homeowner just called me. Very nice lady. I asked her about deposit and I can't remember what she said!! I think it was 25%, which would be about $200 unless she adds in the $200 cleaning fee. It's... king size bed in master, two twins in 2nd BR, 2 pullout sofas in the LR. I assume floor space for blow up mattresses if we need more sleeping space, and she said RV parking is ample.. so we'll park the RV there for a couple more beds... queen size plus queen pull out in front.

Tracy is happy you're coming to WA and wants to have us over for BBQ... on the 4th if you like. Then we can either go to our church for fireworks... big professional display, or back to our house on the waterfront as homeowner says all the neighbors do thier own thing and there will be plenty of fireworks there to enjoy.

Another thing I asked the lady about is quilting places.. for our quilt ladies... she emailed me the name of a shop very close to where we'll be within 5 minutes and has a friend who will give her some other suggestions.

So.. are we set on this place??? Have you all had a chance to look at the pictures...? It's the Camano Island place.. I think she said Port Susan.

Looked at that place. Very nice... but not too conveniently located. It's in Bremerton, which is on the other side of Puget Sound... long car drive or 1 hr ferry ride to get there. Don't see anything really compelling about it to choose it over the Camano Island place. It may be physically bigger, but doesn't say anything about pull out sofas... so don't know why it says it sleeps 8 with 3 beds. And would be a pain to drive the RV over there, and expensive... I think about $80 to take it on the ferry, or 100+ miles to drive around through Tacoma and back north. Lots more to see and do on the other side of the sound.

Let's go with the convient one on the ocean!!!

Mom called, dad has fallen twice this week, they have an appointment to discuss 'time' and to put a 'do not recesitate' order on his chart. We both feel he should make it to the summer, don't know if he will make it 'through' the summer. My cold is back with a vengence.

Went and did some 'for sale' drive buys, just to keep my hopes up.

food today:

Breakfast: 250 cals

Lunch: 130 cals

NO Snacks, unless you count the cup of Theraflu.

Taco Soup tonight, and since I saved calories I can have lt. sour cream on it!! Have been 'really' listening to the stomach not the head today. So I can truely say...'good food' day. Not much exercising, head and sinuses hurt to bad.

Just got off expedia. Air fare is a whole lot better than I thought. It's even cheaper than airfare to Minn. would have been. Got a price for $340.00 RT leaving from Flint and connecting in Cleveland. Then add the price of the rental (sounds reasonable too) and spending money, I'm gonna have to think about this and do some fast talking to DH. Well, gonna go check Amtrac now. TTYL

Slow night, where is everybody, heading to bed, hope to get pics of DD's quilt & purse on line. I think I am going to talk to the kennel about selling some of my gourmet dog biscuits.

Well, sucked it up and did the 'weigh in' this morning. With my jammies (scale is in the garage, so no weighing in the buff) and I am at my 'pre-holiday' weight, whew!!! I also need to remember how good I feel when I don't eat crap, carbs mainly. It drives me nuts that I can't remember how poisonous carbs are to me.

Janet, how was it going to look at your brother's house?

Phyl, Earl could be spending time gambling instead of playing with his airplane and helicopter. I would add chasing wild women, but he has you to chase who is sexy and wild, so he is too busy chasing you to look at other wemon!

It sounds like everyone is going to make it this July. Wow, I have never taken a vacation without my kids, well I have kind of, my quilting week, but that is different. I can't WAIT for the quilt shops!!!! OOOHHH and I do love a great antique store if anyone else is interested! I know Washington has some fabulous ones. Hummm, we aren't going anywhere near Enemclaw (sp), long story, feed me enough adult beverages and I MIGHT tell you about that little excusion. I love the coast, maybe I will find a nice little bungalow and job and I can move there?

Today, laundry and QUILTING, hand quilting since all my supplies are in storage, but quilting none the less!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
