banded_for_life 2 Posted September 28, 2005 Just a question for all your banders have been around the block for awhile. Will grilled fish be on the menu ever again as well as Peanut Butter? ? I would kill right now for a bowl of oatmeal with peanut butter and a banana mixed up in it... and if I can't have that ever again...I may just have dr b take this band right out...lol...ok..noooo..I won't...but I sure as hell will pout about it for a loooonnng time! La_madam 20 Posted September 28, 2005 I eat Peanut Butter all the time on a spoon or on a piece of cheese or on a banana cant do the oatmeal though it make me hungreir, to many carbs , all I do is crave more carbs if I eat oatmeal and it goes through my band to quickly, not solid enough
the best me 6 Posted September 28, 2005 Wanna hear something gross? I read your thread title and said "Yummmmm". I eat fish and I eat Peanut Butter. I think PButter mixed into your oatmeal is a great and wonderful and healthy and yummy way to get in some good flavor AND Protien AND Fat (which you need with your limited calories post-op) Guacamole is good mushy, too. Are you officially on mushies yet? Or still full liquids? If you can blend your Oatmeal with PButter to smoothie consistency (if you could suck it up through a straw) you could definately do it. YES! to Peanut Butter!!!!!!!! Wait for mushies on fish (I would, anyway). tuna salad very wet with dressing is a great mushy. Blend and mash and chew to goo and eat it!! Grilled fish is DEFINATELY on the list. I suppose you could even top it with PButter?
banded_for_life 2 Posted September 28, 2005 Thanks La madam, I have just protien for Breakfast as well, but I would have the oatmeal for lunch with the pb and banana and it would hold me until dinner. Or it did..lol. and then I was back to low carb for dinner as well.
sunnykim 0 Posted September 28, 2005 Well my doc told me to have alittle Peanut Butter for the protien. And for some reason oatmeal leaves me satisfied for a while. But its true to many carbs. Maybe try the wieght control kind its really good and it comes in bannana bread flavor i thought it was good!!! Kim

But Kathy on the other hand...she may just be twisted enough to try it...(kathy you know I am totally teasing you!) Yes, I on liquids of some sort for the next 4 weeks *sigh* and then I will be onto mushies...where I will get my oatmeal. I just wanted to make sure I could possibly eat some of my favs again. Jachut 487 Posted September 28, 2005 Oatmeal with Peanut Butter in it? I've never heard of that! That sounds like something you'd eat when you have pregnancy cravings, lol. Ditto Peanut Butter and cheese. Oh well, I guess I eat Vegemite. None of the rest of the world can understand THAT!
HarleyNana 10 Posted September 28, 2005 The ONLY way I can do my favorite fruit, the banana, is after it has been blended into a smoothie. Oh, for a banana sandwich with lots of mayo, ummmmmmmm.
Jill_S 1 Posted September 28, 2005 Peanut Butter and cheese is amazing - try it, you might like it I used to sometimes put peanut butter in a cheese sammich before I grilled it.

aaamom 0 Posted September 29, 2005 Ok, I Must Be Sheltered. What Is Vegemite???????????
Jachut 487 Posted September 29, 2005 Vegemite (Pronounced vegie-might) is an Australian delicacy - misunderstood by the rest of the world. It's yeast extract vegetable spread thing - a spread for bread, toast and crackers. It's completely black, similar to but not the same as marmite and promite (which may only be English, dont know if you have those there). It has a taste that is impossible to describe but is something all Aussie kids grow up with, most other people recoil in disgust at the look and the smell of it. I love it. So really have no business recoiling in horror at Peanut Butter and cheese, or Peanut Butter and oatmeal or that latest one banana and mayo, eeeeew, LOL! The jingle goes: We're happy little vegemites as bright as bright can be we all enjoy our vegemite for Breakfast lunch and tea our mummy says we're growing stronger every single week because we love our vegemite we all enjoy our vegemite it puts a rose in every cheek! Hunzi 0 Posted October 3, 2005 Oh my gosh, I have to tell my vegemite story! I have a good friend who is an Aussie, and when he came to visit, naturally he brought his jar of vegemite. So one day we're making breakfast, and I'm putting jam on my toast, and he's getting out his vegemite...and I asked him what it tasted like. So he offers me the jar and I swipe a finger around the rim and get a little, and pop it in my mouth....and tried to be very polite! Ick! I had to tell him I didn't think his mum must have liked him very much to feed him that! No offense intended to the vegemite lovers of the world!
