Carrie_C 9 Posted August 10, 2009 I don't have much gas pain thankfully... but It's been 3 days now without a bowel movement. Did anyone take a laxative after surgery or anything to help with Constipation? Try some Miralax or some Phillips. It doesn't cause as much cramping.
ccweeks 0 Posted August 10, 2009 such an inspirational thread!!!! i hope we keep bumping this up to the top. i will add a few of mine to this great list! (i have chosen to wait to have my surgery the friday just before thanksgiving to avoid taking too many days off) i have made this choice because: -no longer do i want to worry about people dreading sitting next to me on an airplane -i want to wake up energized and ready to live every day -of my health. i have horrible Migraines and am ready to bid them adieu. THEBIGGESTLOSER427 0 Posted August 11, 2009 I am soooo inspired by reading the posts on this board. I am anxiously waiting for my approval from the insurance company. For the last four months my life has been consumed with medical appointments, psychological tests and evaluations, procedures...etc. I finally finished everything and my sugery was tentatively scheduled for 8/28. I am now told that it is a possibility that the surgery will happen in September...this wait is so unnerving. In the meantime I encourage myself by coming to this board. Thanks for keeping me excited despite the delays...

lamber2299 0 Posted August 12, 2009 I will never again be kicked off a roller coaster for being to big for the seat. I was at an amusement park with my kids this summer and got booted off a ride for being too big. It was the most humiliating moment of my life. Not only for me, but for my kids too. They are 10, 14, and 16. Really tough ages to have everyone on a ride and in line laughing at your fat mom. My surgery is August 18th and next year my kids and I are planning a Roller Coaster vacation. We are going to spend two weeks traveling the country and riding the most amazing roller coasters. We live in Texas and have season passes to Six Flags, so we are planning to hit several other Six Flags Parks. The memory of that day and the anticipation of the trip next summer where I will not have to worry about not fitting on the rides is my motivation right now. I feel your pain, this just recently happened to me on vacation... I was totally horrified. I actually started to cry because I was so embarrassed, and of course my friends didn't understand why I was so upset, they don't know what it's like. Just think, next year we both will be riding EVERY SINGLE COASTER!!! Good luck!
justiceaim1 0 Posted August 12, 2009 Well, I just got home from the hospital. My surgery was yesterday and I must admitt it wasn't as bad as I had expected! I was very sore yesterday and last night but today it's a lot better, granted I am still sore but nothing like yesterday. The pain wasn't anything like I had imagined it to be, I thought I was going to be in so much pain I'd be crying or something lol. Good luck to everyone and I hope you have as good as an experience as I do. Now comes the hard part for me, NOT EATING regular food. Man, I am so hungry, it's been about 48 hours since I have ate. I just ate some Jello but that didn't do anything lol. I just have to keep thinking, NEVER AGAIN... I can do this, we all can do this!! Good luck everyone.. XOXO Congratulations on your surgery! I was starving the next day after surgery also. What saved me was having watered down pureed fat free refried Beans. It helped me so much with my hunger. Some doctors have you on Clear liquids but I thought I'd mention it in case it's allowed for you also.

kittkat2009 0 Posted August 12, 2009 Never again.... ....will I be the "fat chick" ....will I be embarrassed because I can't fit on an amusement park ride ....will I be the fattest of all my friends ....will I not be able to shop at the GAP, AE, Holister, ec ....will I constantly be looking around when I enter a room to see who is making comments about my weight ....will I feel not good enough for a man because of my weight ....will I brake a chair because I am too fat ....will I wear big baggy clothes to cover up myself ....will I be ashamed to wear a bathing suit in public ....will I let my weight hold me back from doing the things I want to do ....will I get too tired chasing my little cousins around ....will I cry myself to sleep because I feel unworthy ....will I be a fat unhealthy person! My surgery is this Friday, Aug. 7... I am starting to get nervous but wanted to write out what I WILL NEVER AGAIN be! This is my motivation to make this change in my life! I challenge you to write down what you never again will do/think... or what you have already excluded because of your weight loss!! Good luck to all!!!!! What an awesome list - I love it! Can't wait to be banded too! Good luck with your new you!
