Hello all, Iwas banded yesterday. Amazingly I feel good today, hardly any pain at all.. Just a little soreness. I have to have my staples removed tomorrow. Going to nap, will check in later.

Ok so this liquid diet is no fun. All of the sweet shakes are just not working for me.:blushing: I mean is it really ok for me to just have Soup all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions for a full liquid diet that does not include sweet shakes.

Motivation!

I have entered the TURKEY DAY Challenge 2009. I think it will help me to obtain a mini goal and keep me focused during the holiday.

I am schedule to do my lapband on Sept 14 at 9am also...

I am hanging on with the pre op liquid... I have cheated, but it was a small portion of chicken breast and veggie.. I am back on track now with only 4 more day to go...

Abercchic,

The more you move the easier it will be to get the gas out. Trying walking and make yourself burp and burp and burp. (Or Belch) It does take the sharp pain away. Sounds gross but it helps. Good Luck! You will feel much better in 2 days.

Hi Colorado, yes I am feeling a bit hungrier too. It really hit me hard on Monday. I just have to remember why I did this, and that I am self pay, that kinda of put me back in the right frame of mind !! I had my first post-op appt. today and all is well. I lost 12 lbs. since surgery. They did say that if I gained all of it back, it wouldnt be unusual, because I havent had a fill yet. That really scares me.

No way! I refuse to gain back the 15 I have lost so far. I will put myself back on that clear liquid diet before I let that happen! That would be so disappointing. You know, I added it up and the first week I was eating 800 cals or less, now I am 1000-1200. That still is not very much. As long as I can keep it around here and not gain anymore I will be happy until my first fill.

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
