Recommended Posts

Nawlinzlady (Dee) thanks for your words of encouragment ...walked 1.8km today steadily increasing each day. I decided today I would walk to from my home in Victoria to Sydney 755km (on my treadmil) ...might take me a day or two LOLL but should be a lot lighter by the time I arrive.

Dewberry

PS My names not Mack that's who said the quote LOLL

That is a great idea.

good i'm not the only one on solids. I was banded on the 17th and can EAT!. I am forcing myself to be limited. In the morning I am fine. It seems to squeeze in the morining and I don't need to eat by lunch I am ready to eat and finally for dinner I feel like i have been let out of a cage and I 'm ready to attack the food. The good thing is I can't eat nearly as much as I used to. Even without a fill. I feel bad if I try to over eat. I hope this helps. I get filled on the 22nd. when do you?

I don't have my fill scheduled yet. Probably in about 2 weeks. I was eating toast yesterday and it got stuck? and HURT! I couldn't eat anything else all day, and even today have been sticking to liquids. It still kinda hurts and am having pain in my left shoulder. I think I am eating alot less, but more often. I am hungry in the morning, noon and at dinner too. But I am trying to limit the quantity and make healthy choices. Hope you all are doing well.

K~

Hi all Sept Bandsters! I haven't posted in a while but have been trying to stay caught up on how everyone is doing. My weightloss has stalled since about 2 weeks post op and I am just holding at the same weight now. I am 4 weeks post op today and just scheduled my 1st fill for Oct 17th. I hope it makes a difference because like many of you I definitely get hungry now and I really miss that feeling of not thinking about food at all from those first 2 weeks of post op! Good luck to everyone and I really love hearing all of your ideas on healthy menus because it helps me- I always seem to get stuck eating the same thing over and over and then I start to hate it- so I need all the ideas I can find!

Hey everyone, just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I'm 3 weeks post op and feel pretty good. Even though I feel like I can eat anything I've been trying to stay within 1/2 cup. It's hard sometimes. I go back for my 1st fill on 10/29, I know a long ways away. I don't think I have anything in my band so I can't wait for the fill.

Well it sounds like everyone is doing good, adjusting to this new life we choose for ourselves. One thing I do know I would do it all over again. I love this band!

Take care, and keep up the good work.

Only 30 lbs to go, thats awesome!

The first fill helped me, I can still eat more than a cup but hunger is way down.

Good Morning to all the Sexy Septembers!

Mr. scale is still moving down but the losses have slowed quite a bit now that I am 3wks post op. As long as Mr.Scale is going lower I am quite happy. I have been steadily increasing my walking but I am already at 90 mins a day so I am concentrating on increasing the intensity now.

My doctor says no strength training till six weeks and I agree, last night I woke up with a little sore type pain at my port area from sleeping on my left side.

I was a left side sleeper before my banding, so I hope this will not become a port area problem.

How is everyone else doing today? Exercising? I got some some great greek yogurt ideas on a thread I started, you can read some of them here ~http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/greek-yogurt-ideas-please-103219/

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Hey Dee, 90 mins of walking is excellent! Good for you.

When I saw my Dr. last week at 4 wks post-op I asked whether I needed to wait to start doing ab exercises and weight training - he said "you are totally healed, as far as I'm concerned you can do whatever you want."

I was sort of hoping for the 6 week excuse to start abs etc. :) But I took the plunge and did some sit-ups and a few other exercises. Not easy, but no problems!

Just had to report I've lost another 2 lbs so far this week, so I think that is about 3 since my first fill last Wed.

The band is working! I do need more restriction, but I am feeling satisfied with smaller amounts and not hungry all the time.

So excited! 21.4 lbs so far, in 5 weeks. :)

Hope everyone is doing well.

It's good to read how everyone is with their band. Those of you that haven't posted in a while, let us know how you are now. I think about those of you that haven't posted here in a while.

I use the scales during my medical appointments to record my weight. At home, I can't stay off the scale, and I find it fascinating how the weight changes up and down post-band. Last night it read 211, this morning 200! That's not unusual to have a 10 lbs change in 24 hours after the band. Post band, though, often the lowest weight is in the evening...

My first fill will be the end of October. So far no problems keeping the food portions small. It helps for me to eat every 2 1/2 hours, or 4-5 meals and Snacks a day.

Just a quick post today because I have a busy day. I tried on a pair of 18 jeans yesterday and they fit, so happy. Took some pictures and will post them as soon as I can. I'm also down to 231, which makes 42 lbs lost total. I agree with Colorado hunger is down although I don't have restriction except for in the mornings, well off to the gym. Take care.

I think variety is important. There is a thread here that I have gotten some wonderful ideas from. Here is the link~>http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/share-ideas-what-did-you-eat-today-36828/

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
